The basics
The Motorcyclepedia Museum celebrates motorcycle culture with more than 8,500-square-feet (789 square-meters) of exhibits with numerous world-class bikes; from old-school Indians and police motorcycles to vintage Harley-Davidsons and Arlen Ness customs. The museum is home to three motordromes, and a 1907 Boxcar converted into a small theater. The museum is family-friendly, and kids under 6 are admitted free.

How to get there
You'll find the Motorcyclepedia Museum at 250 Lake Street, in Newburgh, New York. It's easiest to visit the museum by car. You should drive—from points north and south—via I-87, or the Palisades Interstate Parkway. You'll find ample parking if you arrive by car. Alternatively, regional Metro-North Trains run from Manhattan to Beacon, which is directly across the Hudson River from Newburgh. Visitors can take a taxi or car service from Beacon to the museum.
When to get there
The museum is open year-round on select days of the week. It’s advisable to check opening hours before visiting. Since the exhibits are situated indoors, the museum is an ideal cold weather and rainy day destination. The drive to Newburgh is stunning when leaves are changing, in October, and may be snowy and icy in winter months, particularly January and February. Traffic during commuting hours is challenging around New York City, so consider a drive during off-peak hours to avoid traffic.
