Faraglioni

End of Via Tragara, Capri, Italy

The Basics

Located off the southeastern coast of Capri, the Faraglioni tower more than 350 feet (100 meters) above sea level. The rock formations are so famous that they even have their own names: Stella sits closest to shore; Faraglione di Mezzo is in the center and is known for its natural arch; and Scopolo, which is the farthest from shore and is inhabited by a unique type of blue-skinned lizard.

The best way to admire the Faraglioni is by taking a boat tour from Sorrento, Positano, or the Marina Grande port on Capri. Boat tours generally circle the entire island, sailing past the Faraglioni and through the natural arch of Faraglione di Mezzo, where it’s considered good luck to exchange a kiss with your sweetheart.

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
Paulo was the best tour guide. We couldn’t have had a better experience. He always was so informative about every part of the island. The best part was going into the caves and through the rock passage. Can’t wait to do again!!!

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
The best day!! Antonio gave us a great tour of Capri. Stopped at the best swimming spot and took us to all the best views. For the price this was an absolute steal to have this boat for just the 4 of us private. He brought us homemade limoncello and wine. The boat was thoughtfully decorated. I would highly recommend

We had a wonderful experience, we got to see all of capri from the sea. We also got to swim in a cave. The driver was very polite and considerate and told us interesting facts about the different spots we passed. 10/10 would recommend!

Awesome experience! 10/10 would recommend. And the limoncello is some of the best I’ve had. Very reasonably priced for a private tour and great company.

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
Amazing tour. Welcoming from the moment we spoke to the host John Michael. He ushered us to a beautiful boat where his grandfather‘s best friend Vitorrio took us on a three hour tour. During that tour, Vitorrio contacted his daughter because we had reservations at her restaurant that evening. He wanted to ensure we were welcomed with open arms! . The trip was complete with wonderful stories, grotto tours, homemade capers and Prosecco. I could not have been happier with the friendliness, knowledge and joy that this tour brought us.

Special Private Tour

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
Very special private tour, which left us with memories to cherish! We started by selecting a local wine in their shop to bring along with us. We got into the Blue Grotto quickly, which is quite a feat from what we have been told by friends who have been before us. Our guide was kind and catered to our requests. He also took lots of pictures for us. It was too cold to swim (for us), but we enjoyed several grottos and caves with pristine waters and the striking Faraglioni. Great value, great experience. Highly recommend.

Amazing boat tour of Capri Island

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
Vittorio was our skipper and he was spectacular! I had high expectations for this tour and he greatly exceeded them. He gave us so much history about the area and we were able to go into and around so many of the best grottoes and other notable areas. We were even able to see one of only 50 goats on the high deserted rocks. The boat was great, giving a comfortable and smooth ride. He says he loves his current job after being a retired navy man. His enthusiasm shows! And his English was quite good. This was one of the highlights of our Italy tour. I highly recommend this private tour. We saw the bigger boats and there was a lot they could not do. Take this tour with Gianni’s boats!

Faraglioni and Limoncello tour around Capri island - 2 hours
Don’t hesitate booking this trip. The operator was extremely quick with communication and was Great to work with leading up the our tour, which had to be slightly shifted due to weather. They were accommodating and just so incredibly kind & helpful. Once we did get there, the private boat was INCREDIBLE, easily the most beautiful boat in Capri. The boatman gave us a wonderful tour, full of beautiful sites, great information & stories and he had the best chilled limoncello on board. Highly recommend this trip, it was a highlight of Italy for us and the people were great to work with.

When to Get There

The Faraglioni are one of the most photographed sights in Capri, and the best time to capture their grandeur is in the early morning or late afternoon, when the Mediterranean sun isn’t at its peak. Join a boat tour that leaves in the early hours, or opt for a sunset cruise to take advantage of the golden evening light.
