The Basics

To avoid spending hours in line at the Accademia Gallery, snag skip-the-line tickets in advance or opt for a private guided tour. David is unsurprisingly popular and set in one of the most crowded parts of the gallery—for the best photo ops, book a coveted, exclusive, early-access tour. To maximize your time in Florence, choose a half- or full-day tour that visits both the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery or also includes a city sightseeing tour.

So much to see and learn! The amount of art to look at was astounding! The only complaint was our radio and ear bud was suboptimal, most of the time we couldn’t hear what guide was saying

Uffizi + David & Accademia Tour Exclusive
Martina showed us the Uffizi and Marco showed us the Accademia. They both were awesome. Very passionate about their subject, funny, and knew tricks to get us through the museums quickly. They shared the highlights with important context so we could fully appreciate the art. This is a two part tour - they brought us back to the office so we could rest and smoothly transition to the next tour.

DAVID and ACCADEMIA Gallery Private Tour in Florence
Of course, Michelangelo's David is the most memorable part of this tour, but the next most memorable would be our tour guide, Irina. She was warm, passionate and knowledgeable. What a fantastic tour!

Half-Day Uffizi and Accademia Small-Group Guided Tour
The Accademia tour with Julia was fantastic. Julia was hands down the best tour guide we’ve had during our trip to Rome & Florence (we toured all the major places of interests). She was super articulate, caring and a great storyteller. We got a different guide for the following Uffizi tour, Phillip. He was a fine guy. Not as exciting as Julia but did a good job.

Skip the Line: Florence's Accademia Gallery Priority Entrance Ticket
I was a little skeptical- middle of the day, lines around the block. But I arrived a few minutes early and was let right in. No limitations. Great way to see David if you are not looking for a tour.

What Not to Miss at the Accademia Gallery

The scale of Michelangelo’s David (carved from a single block of Carrara marble) is enough to impress, but its fine details and lifelike features make it a true masterpiece. Travelers spend most of their time admiring David, but those interested in Michelangelo’s life and other works should also see his unfinished San Matteo or Prigioni that adorn the main hallway. The plaster model of Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabine Women also shouldn’t be missed.
