International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum
The basics
The Red Cross (known as the Red Crescent in Islamic countries) was started in Geneva by a group of Swiss businessmen in the 1860s, so it is fitting that a museum dedicated to the organization should be based in the city. The museum, located in the International District, aims to raise awareness of the importance of humanitarian associations that are able to act impartially across the world.

How to get there
The museum is located at 17, Avenue de la Paix in the International District just north of Geneva city center. It’s easy to reach the museum on public transport – Bus 8 stops nearby at Appia. Geneva has an international airport with connections to cities around the world.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum is open six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, all year round. It’s closed on major public holidays, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
