The Basics

With a standard admission ticket, enjoy access to Guadalajara Zoo’s eight permanent exhibits and marvel over some of the zoo's most famous inhabitants, including a tapir which appeared in Apocalypto alongside Mel Gibson, as well as a robust collection of exotic and endangered animals.

For an extra fee, you can also take a Safari-style adventure through the Masai Mara exhibit, ride the Panoramic Train, or soar above the enclosures on the Sky Zoo cable car. All-inclusive admission tickets booked in advance typically include access to some of the above and more.

Guadalajara Zoo is situated in Huentitán el Alto, around 4.5 miles (7.5 kilometers) from the historic center of Guadalajara. Most visitors find it easiest to arrive by private vehicle, but Guadalajara Zoo is also well connected by public transit. The closest station is Zoológico (Macrobus, Line 1).

During the school holidays, Guadalajara Zoo typically opens daily from the mid-morning until the early evening. In term time, the zoo is open Wednesday to Sunday. Throughout the year, the zoo can be incredibly busy on weekends, so visit midweek in term time for a quieter experience.
