Bosque de Chapultepec I Secc,, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, 11100

The Basics

Chapultepec Castle (Castillo de Chapultepec) served as the presidential residence until 1939, soon after which it became home to the National Museum of History (Museo Nacional de Historia); today it also serves as a venue for concerts and theater productions. A stroll through the museum halls followed by a tour of the sprawling castle grounds is a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Mexico City. Don’t forget to pack a camera—the views from Chapultepec Hill are some of the best in the city.

Visit the castle independently or as part of a Mexico City sightseeing tour by bike, by Segway, or on foot. Avoid long waits at the entrance with prebooked skip-the-line admission, or choose an early-access tour and get in before the crowds.

Private Tour in Mexico City Downtown & Anthropology Museum & Chapultepec Castle
Wonderful tour with Aztec guides. Jose Luis gave us a wonderful private tour of Mexico city starting from the ancient Mexica capital of Tenochtitlan and the templo mayor museum in the center of Mexico city and going to the palace of fine arts, the anthropology museum, and Chapultepec castle among others. The guide provided us with stories, folklore, and history and helped me appreciate Mexico city so much more than i would have had i visited on my own. Highly recommend, don't forget to tip!

Chapultepec Castle and Anthropology Museum Private Walking Tour
Hilary was incredible. An absolutely brilliant guide with an amazing knowledge of pre-Columbian history thru the Aztecs and Mayans and a vast knowledge of all things in Central American history. She was funny, witty and guided us through eons of history. Then we walked thru Chapultepec park and to the castle where she had incredible insights into the Spanish colonialism and Mexican independence. A fabulous day spent with Hilary, a must do tour!
