Ways to visit Chapultepec Park (Bosque de Chapultepec)

Located in the center of Mexico City, Chapultepec Park (Bosque de Chapultepec) is found 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the zócalo, or central plaza, along the border of the popular upscale neighborhoods of Reforma and Polanco. Considered one of the world’s oldest urban parks, it’s believed to have been set aside as green space in the 1300s, but wasn't officially protected until 1428 by King Nezahualcoyotl.

In addition to exploring the grounds by bike, Segway, or on foot, many tours also provide the option to visit main attractions, such as Chapultepec Castle, which is home to the National History Museum (Museo Nacional de Historia) and the National Museum of Anthropology (Museo Nacional de Antropología).

Well worth it!
This is a long tour but so worth it. Alberto is a superb guide, patient and attentive, with solid English, and a real pride in his native city. We followed him on bikes all the way down the magnificent Paseo de la Reforma, where he often pulled off to the side to point out some of the signature monuments and sketch out the fascinating history. It's such a vast and busy boulevard, but the ride was peaceful and easy, you have a cycle lane, and we found Mexican traffic to be patient and calm. Then we spent a couple of blissful hours riding through what must be the most stunning city park in the world - Chapultepec is vast, pristine and beautiful, with lakes and castles and fountains and museums. Far bigger than Central Park, it feels like its own world after a while, and despite the huge population of Mexico City, it seemed at times as though we had the place to ourselves. Alberto took us through sections 1 and 2, past the many sculptures and squares, there's just so much to it. After a juice stop we then rode back down Reforma, a little hot and tired, but eager now to see sections 3 and 4. Highly recommended!

Chapultepec Castle and Anthropology Museum Private Walking Tour
Hilary was incredible. An absolutely brilliant guide with an amazing knowledge of pre-Columbian history thru the Aztecs and Mayans and a vast knowledge of all things in Central American history. She was funny, witty and guided us through eons of history. Then we walked thru Chapultepec park and to the castle where she had incredible insights into the Spanish colonialism and Mexican independence. A fabulous day spent with Hilary, a must do tour!

Mexico City Segway Tour: Chapultepec Park
Great experience. Guide was very knowledgeable of the area we toured and the larger history of Mexico. Very safety conscious. And they made some other good suggestions for things to do while we we were in Mexico City. Would definitely book with them again next time I am in town.

We had a great time with Christian! He was so kind & generous with his knowledge across so many parts of our rich culture. Given the limited time to walk through so much, we felt more than satisfied from the areas we did cover and si glad we decided to take this tour. Now we’re looking forward to a return visit to continue exploring what we didn’t have time to visit together.
