Viry was amazing! We walked around the neighborhood and she felt like a friend giving us information and recommendations. Also, the food was amazing! My mother and I are Mexican American and have experienced my grandmother’s cooking but this was the best rich mole I’ve ever had. Amazing tamales and some street tacos. 10/10 recommend. It wound up just being us 2 on a private tour and we had a blast

We had the best time tasting and experiencing Polanco. We received a great description of the food and how to recognize great chips and salsa. It was very personalized. I would definitely book again when we return.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the local food scene, and we all had an exceptional time learning about and experiencing the local food in Mexico. And she was just a pleasure to meet and talk to about local cuisine and more.

Victor was a great guide through the 7 food stops and the local history of the area. We ended up being the only ones on the tour, so had a very private experience! Every stop was delicious and he adapted as necessary to our dietary needs. It's great to be shown the foods by someone knowledgeable about food. (Victor studied gastronomy) It felt like a having a friend with a passion for the local food scene showing you around.

We really enjoyed the history that our tour guide Viddy provided to us as we savored the delicious fresh foods at each stop. She is very knowledgeable about the history, culture and this lovely neighborhood of Polanco. She was patient and allowed us to take our time and ask as many questions about our food, route and current events. I would highly recommend this delicious food tour!

Viry was an excellent guide — as a chef and CDMX native, she had so much to share about the food, the culture and the history. Each dish was delicious and having the extra knowledge enhanced the experience. It was a fabulous way to start our visit to Mexico City!

Mezcal & Tacos Tour Polanco
This tour was very informative and the guide was super friendly. My wife and I were with another couple and we had a lovely time. I also loved that it was a perfect amount of food so that we could go on eating more the rest of the day haha. Would recommend!

We have been on many food tours in many countries. The food has always been good. Our tour guide Victor, a chef by vocation for our Polanco tour may have been the best ever. His knowledge of food, Polanco, Mexico City history and culture was extraordinary.

When to Get There

Many businesses and shops close between 2pm and 4pm, and traffic can be heavy around that time. Mexico City’s peak tourist season typically runs from November to May, so it may be more difficult to get a table at Polanco’s popular restaurants then.
