The Basics

Brera is one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Milan for a before-dinner aperitivo and a great place to experience Milan’s excellent food and wine scene, so consider joining a small-group food tour or wine tasting. Food walking tours are also available in Brera.

In addition to strolling through Brera and enjoying the scene, you can visit the neighborhood’s main attraction: the famous Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera), one of Italy’s most important museums, with works by Botticelli, Raphael, Hayez, Titian, Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Piero della Francesca, Rembrandt, Rubens, and Andrea Mantegna. The designer shopping district Quadrilatero d’Oro, where the elegant Milanese head to update their wardrobes, is also nearby.

Georgia was a great guide. From the breakfast through to Gelato it was a memorable experience. The tour of Brera and the characters we met, especially in Via Moscova, added to a great day. This tour is a must for newbies to Milan

Milan Food Walking Tour of Brera
Perfect experience from start to finish. Starting from breakfast pastries to lunch meats, to the best lasagna I’ve ever had, to historic family wine, and finally finishing with gelato. The history behind all the foods and cultures of Milan/Italy were all mixed in the best way possible. Can not recommend this tour enough.

We had a great time and highly recommend this tour! The guide provided a lot of background and insight into the artwork that we would have otherwise overlooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and appreciate that we now have free access to the Pinacoteca di Brera for 30-days. We look forward to going back soon!

Stephanie was wonderful. She explained interesting facts about the art in this museum and seemed pleased at how excited we were to learn. Actually, neither my husband nor I have ever liked religious art, but we sure have respect for it now after our tour with Stephanie. You can't go wrong this this tour and you sure won't forget it, either

Terrific introduction to Milan and the Brera district. Nadia was a wonderful guide. All the food was delicious and unique, the wine wonderful. The stops were well chosen to give a broad view of regional food and the area. The pacing was perfect and the historical and architectural information interesting.
