

National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey
The Basics
Walk through the encounter across the Pacific Ocean, and come face-to-face with underwater creatures such as great white sharks, humpback whales, sea lions, and stingrays. The 60,000-square-foot (5,574-square-meter) space includes giant screens with photo-realistic animation, hologram displays, and touch screen games and exhibits.
Book your tickets ahead of time for convenience and savings. For unlimited, skip-the-line entry, upgrade to an annual pass. Some New York sightseeing passes include entry to National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey, and some hop-on hop-off buses stop nearby.

How to Get There
National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey is located in Times Square. The closest subway stations are 42nd Street–Times Square, 42nd Street–Bryant Park, and 42nd Street–Port Authority. The nearest bus stop is at 7th Avenue and West 44th Street. Several stops on the hop-on hop-off bus route are also nearby.

When to Get There
National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey is open every day from 10am till 9 or 10pm, depending on the day. The last tickets for the day are sold an hour before closing. Expect to spend about 60 to 90 minutes at the experience, which includes time for the interactive options in the Exploration Hall. On select evenings, a complimentary beverage is included.

Nearby, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square boasts more than 500 weird and wonderful artifacts, alongside interactive games and brainteasers. Designed to surprise and amaze, the museum (or “odditorium,” as it calls itself) is an entertaining destination for visitors of all ages.
