The Basics

Due to the Leaning Tower of Pisa's global renown and unstable subsoil, tickets to the 12th-century tower are strictly limited and visits are timed; booking in advance is a must and skip-the-line tickets are highly recommended.

All Pisa tours cover the Leaning Tower, generally depart from Florence or Rome, and often include other sites such as the Piazza dei Miracoli and the Piazza dei Cavalieri, which boast the sublime Pisa Baptistry and Duomo. Travelers short on time can combine a visit to Pisa with whistle-stop tours of Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence, all of which travel through the serene Tuscan countryside.

Pisa tower
Our guide was great and made everything very interesting. We climbed to the top of the tower, not bad for 69 and 71 years old

Half Day Shore Excursion: Pisa And The Leaning Tower From Livorno
Tour guide was professional and friendly. Our visit to the leaning tower of Pisa was wonderful tho because it was Saturday there were many tourists. Make sure to check your stamina if you walk up the tower! I highly recommend this tour.

Guide was quite flexible and accommodating. Enjoyed visiting the various towns and the boat ride. Pisa was a nice capstone to the end of a full day of touring

Pisa from Florence afternoon Tour including Skip-the-Line Leaning Tower Ticket
We had a great time on this tour! It was just enough time at Pisa! The bus was comfortable & our tour guide was kind and informational! The only thing I would say is that they find a better place to check everybody in. We were caught in a terrible hail storm, and we were standing almost became a river. Other than that I would highly recommend this tour.

Timed Entrance to Leaning Tower of Pisa and Cathedral
My wife and I lived in Italy 40 years ago and coming back was a terrific experience. The Leaning tower of Pisa was a place we went to a few times while we lived here, so seeing it again 40 years later was pretty cool.

Livorno Shore Excursion to Lucca & Pisa optional Leaning Tower Ticket
Mateo (guide) and driver Stefano were excellent. Mateo can speak 3 or 4 languages and very personable. Did not no anything about Lucca but may have been my favorite place in Italy. Good value for the price, well organized just watch for pickpockets at the meeting place when you first meet at city centre

Livorno Shore Excursion to Lucca & Pisa optional Leaning Tower Ticket
Lucca shore excursion was excellent and such a good value compared to what the cruise line offered. Easy to find the meeting area. Wish it would have just gone to Lucca and spent more time there instead of including Pisa. Mattia was an amazing excellent guide who showed us around the town and then we had free time. Would recommend this trip to others.

Half Day Shore Excursion: Pisa And The Leaning Tower From Livorno
We were on a cruise and booked this on our own. We had to take a shuttle bus (additional cost) to meet our guide. Other than that the trip was good and met our expectations. Our guide was charming and informative. We met in the square and then traveled approximately 30 minutes to Pisa. We were then given instruction of where to meet and when and left to our own devices. All in all a pleasant day.

What to do in Pisa

While the tilted tower is undeniably Pisa's most well-known attraction, the Tuscan city has plenty to offer curious visitors. Stop by the Romanesque Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral; visit the beautiful and well-curated Cathedral Museum; and don't miss the lush Orto Botanico, supposedly the first university botanical garden in Europe.
