The Basics

Visitors come to the Secret Lagoon to bathe in its geothermal pool and the steamy waters are naturally heated to between 100–104˚F (38–40˚C) year-round. Secret Lagoon tours from Reykjavik often include a visit to the Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geyser, or other attractions in the Golden Circle area.

The secret laguna was brilliant after a day of heavy rain that made the tour difficult but didn't spoil it, geyser was brilliant as was the golden waterfall (largely frozen so very different from the lovely photos). Doyley the guide was very informative and careful

Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Day Tour with Kerid Crater from Reykjavik
Very very cold! Excellent guide and driver. Lots of interesting facts and info whilst on the bus. Secret lagoon was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Kerid crater very snowy! Geysers amazing to see, gullfoss fantastic. Standing in ravine where two tectonic plates meet was mind blowing. Great tour, just wrap up warm if you go in December.

Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Day Tour with Kerid Crater from Reykjavik
Fantastic day, so much to see the guide Jona was so knowledgeable and added humour. Magic the driver got us to all our destination safety (with crazy weather). Iceland is beautiful and we saw a lot on this one day trip.

Gummi from Gateway to Iceland was a brilliant guide. Thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable, we learnt so much on our Hot Golden Circle tour. The minibus was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this company (and this tour).

The landscape is surreal, in particular the geysir visit was fabulous. A day truly to be cherished for life.

Golden Circle Platinum Secret Lagoon and Friðheimar Tomato Greenhouse Lunch
What a fabulous excursion this was! We booked this trip last minute and so glad that we did! We were lucky to travel in a small group and our tour guide's were super friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We would recommend this excursion to anybody visiting Iceland. The views of Gullfoss waterfall were out of this world, and the experience of having lunch at Fridheimar tomato restaurant will definitely be one to remember. 10/10!!

Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Day Tour with Kerid Crater from Reykjavik
It rained all day but this didn't detract from the experience. The Secret Lagoon was incredible. The rest of the experience was spectacular but due to the weather visibility wasn't always the best. Go prepared for any weather it changes from one minute to the next.

Northern Lights and Midnight Sun

While the geothermal area around the Secret Lagoon is a prime viewing spot for the seasonal phenomena of the Northern Lights (winter) and the Midnight Sun (summer), the swimming pool itself is only open until 8pm in winter and 10pm in summer. Many tours combine an atmospheric evening swim in the lagoon with a Northern Lights viewing safari or a tour of the Golden Circle beneath the light of the Midnight Sun.
