Haight-Ashbury

Haight and Ashbury Streets, San Francisco, 94108

The Basics

Visiting the Haight, as it’s known, is mostly about people watching and enjoying the laid-back vibe. Walk up and down Haight Street to visit landmark record store Amoeba Music and the popular Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop, located at the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets.

Many San Francisco city tours will take you past the neighborhood, but opt for a VW van tour, Haight-Ashbury walking tour, or themed hippie tour for a more in-depth experience with a guide, who can often point out places of interest such as where Janis Joplin or the Grateful Dead used to spend their time.

Fun and informative way to see Haight/Ashbury
So fun and informative! Liked how it was self-paced, could start and stop as we wished, and the history was woven in well to the puzzle/story. Loved it!

San Francisco Haight Ashbury Outdoor Escape Game: Hippie Culture
It was a quick, fun way to explore a different part of the city. It really wouldn’t take more than an hour if you put your mind to it, but we stopped and shopped and had a drink or two along the way!

Great experience to check out lesser known spots and stories of San Francico. I've visited a couple of times before and still discovered new things. Great value for money as well!
