San Juan Bay

San Juan, Puerto Rico , 00962

The basics

Both forts are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but visitors can only walk around the outside walls of the San Juan de la Cruz Fort, as the inside is closed to the public. Just south of Isla de Cabras, you’ll find another icon of Puerto Rico overlooking the bay—the Bacardi Rum Visitor Center, where you can take a tour and enjoy a rum tasting. In addition to touring around the perimeter of the bay, you can also take a sunset sail on a catamaran or book a daytime excursion on the water.

San Juan Bay Day Sail with Drinks Included
A great relaxing sailing tour of the San Juan harbor. The staff was very friendly and boat was very clean. The sail left on time which was good as we had gotten there very early. I would recommend in your mapping software to use San Juan Bay Marina as opposed to the address on the site.

Great Historical Segway Tour of PR

Old San Juan Segway PT tour 10:30am and 1pm or Segway Kickscooter Tour 4pm
This segway tour is more about the history of PR versus the segway ride & beach views. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history, impact to the island and the people of PR, including the purpose of many monuments of Old San Juan. He gave us time to adjust to the segways before we left, great safety briefing and practice included. This is definitely a great way to get a quick overview of the area and ask any questions about the PR's history.

Old San Juan Segway PT tour 10:30am and 1pm or Segway Kickscooter Tour 4pm
our tour guide was very informative and very serious about safety which I appreciated. I took the tour with my son who is 12 and we both had a blast, it was longer than expected, which was a benefit that matched the price of the tour! I would definitely recommend it to someone wanting to explore the history of Puerto Rico in a cool way.

San Juan Catamaran Sunset Sail with Drinks Included
Trip was great was very informative about Old San Juan. The drink variety and quality was perfect. We really enjoyed this being a smaller setting unlike other tours. We couldn’t have asked for a better sunset or tour guides.

Authentic Sail by the Bay of San Juan
We enjoyed the views, the sail, and Captain Joe's information about the island and San Juan Bay. The strong wind gusts made it thrilling but we felt confident that we were safe.

Guided Chiliboats Adventures in Old San Juan
Really easy to pedal and cool sights to see. If you’ve never seen the fort it is a great way to see it while being out on the water

When to get there

During the driest months, from December to early April, expect to encounter the biggest crowds; this is when many tourists head south for winter. Usually in the late summer and fall, you can score the best prices, but this is also hurricane season, so it might be worth purchasing travel insurance if you book then.
