Sorrento Foundation (Fondazione Sorrento)
The Sorrento Foundation organizes art exhibitions, literary readings, musical performances, and other happenings at the elegant 20th-century Villa Fiorentino on Sorrento’s Corso Italia. Take a break from the bustling streets and shops of this resort town, and enjoy one of the events held throughout the year.
The Basics
Sorrento walking tours and shore excursions typically include a stroll along Corso Italia, the city’s chic shopping street that runs through the town center from lively Piazza Tasso. About halfway along the route, Villa Fiorentino’s white facade and lush gardens draw the eye—this former residence of a prominent Sorrentine family is now home to the Sorrento Foundation, the city’s premier cultural association. Stop by to take in one of the temporary photography exhibits, or catch an evening musical or poetry performance.
Sorrento is a popular day-trip destination from Naples and the historic fishing villages along the Amalfi Coast.

Correale di Terranova Museum
If you’re looking for art in Sorrento, but the Sorrento Foundation isn’t holding an exhibition, consider visiting the Correale di Terranova Museum, the city’s most important private art collection. Housed in a historic villa overlooking the sea, the museum displays the Correale family’s collection of 17th- and 18th-century Neapolitan paintings, decorative arts, and archaeological artifacts.
