John was an excellent tour guide for both Hampton Court and Hever! He was extremely knowledgeable and it was evident that he has a passion for what he does! Definitely recommend doing this tour of a lifetime, especially if you have a love of history!
John was a fantastic guide for this journey!! There are not enough nice words I can use to describe him and our experience. Our group has a great love of Tudor history which makes this trip a “must see”! Even with our background knowledge of this topic, John was able to add so much more and made the trip so enjoyable! If you want a professional, knowledgeable and kind tour guide I cannot recommend this experience enough!
Hampton Court Palace is truly beautiful and something not to be missed. Our tour guide John England was very informative and friendly, we never felt rushed. Heaver Castle was a jewel; extremely beautiful and a change of pace from all the other castles we had seen.
What a wonderful tour with an excellent, knowledgeable guide. John was delightful and knew exactly when to let us explore on our own and when to help us through the historical experience. We will definitely book more of his tours when we visit the UK again!
Everything was perfect and hassle-free from beginning to end. My daughter loves all things Anne Boleyn so she was in heaven. John had the perfect balance of information while still giving us our own time. He answered all of Emily's questions and took wonderful pictures of us. Highly recommend John!!
Our day trip to Hever Castle with John was a complete success starting with the incredibly easy train ride from London Victoria station to Bromley south station in Kent. I don’t think that it took more than 15 minutes and contactless payment(Apple Pay) makes it so simple. John who was in constant radio contact picked us up at the train station and we were on our way! We drove through the gorgeous Kent countryside on a fine Spring day and arrived at Hever about an hour later ready to hit the ground running. John allowed us to set the pace (slow and casual) and we had a great conversation about the area and post-Covid travel. He’s a wealth of local knowledge. The tulips were still out and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We are on a bit of a Tudor history jag recently having fortified our interest with a few podcasts ( Not Just the Tudors) on Anne Boleyn. Not only does John know his history but also knows the curators and staff who he introduced us to within the castle house itself. Minor celebs for sure!! Because this is the childhood home of Anne, the staff curators had just opened an exhibit called Becoming Anne Boleyn which features many rare and genuine artifacts from her life. It was a marvelous day thanks to John.
Hever Castle was highly recommended by a friend, so my husband and I were anxious to see it. Because we were staying in London and had no car, John picked us up promptly at the train station. His car was very comfortable and he provided water for us. John was very friendly right from the start and very easy to talk to.
We arrived just as Hever Castle was opening. We told John that we had an interest in gardening and since rain was predicted later, we toured the spectacular gardens first. He was very patient and allowed us to view things at our own pace, while also stopping to take our photo for us and explaining things along the way.
We ventured into Hever Castle after viewing the grounds. We had a marvelous time and found John to be quite knowledgeable about the history of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
It was a wonderful day for my husband and me. We highly recommend a tour of Hever Castle with John England.
