Twelve ancient man-made caves have been discovered on the land of Ægissíða by Hella on the South coast of Iceland. Four of them have now been open to the public on our guided tours. The historical site is Iceland's oldest still standing archaeological remains, some believe the caves to date even further back than the settlement of the Nordic Vikings. The wonders of the Caves of Hella include ancient crosses, wall carvings and carved seats. Iceland is famous for its Icelandic horses, a native breed that have a unique gait known as a ‘tölt’. On this tour, experience riding an Icelandic horse and admire the wild landscapes of south Iceland from horseback. Suitable for all levels, including complete beginners, you will have time to learn the basics before heading out and get chance to experience the ‘tölt’.

It is an excellent choice for experiencing the magical Sólheimajökull glacier in your own pace and in a very small group. You will get to see and photograph unique ice formations, jagged ridges, and color of blue-ice and black sand from the past volcanic eruptions. Feel like you are on top of the world with this day hike that will get the adrenaline pumping. Sólheimajökull is part of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, which is the 4th largest in Iceland. It has a mixture of ash and ice, which gives it a dark color up close. We will hike around, so you can see various crevasses. This is a meet on location tour, you will meet your guide in the parking lot for gearing up and a safety briefing. This hike is moderately challenging, so we do not recommend for any smaller children and anyone with physical limitations.. It’s time to jump in a super jeep, strap on your crampons and step onto the mighty Myrdalsjokull glacier. Mother Nature has really outdone herself with this one, the movie-like surroundings and glaciers are everywhere you look. Grandiose ice walls tower over you as you walk among them to enter the magical blue and black ice dome of the outlet glacier named after the powerful volcano Katla. Prepare to have your breath taken away! We will come to a stop near the roots of Kötlujökull glacier and the view that greets us is otherworldly. We will take on our crampons and helmets, and take a short walk to the opening of the ice cave. We might need to climb a few steps on ladders to the entrance of the cave. As the natural ice cave is in constant change, conditions can be different on each tour. The climb is, however, not difficult at all, and anyone in an average physical condition should be able to climb these steps. It might look adventurous but it is not demanding at all!

Go off the beaten path and into an ice cave on this small-group tour. In a Super Jeep, travel to a spectacular ice cave inside Kötlujökull an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, underneath which the mighty volcano Katla is located. All necessary equipment is included.

We will stop at gígjökull and admire it's beauty and see how the eruption in 2010 affect it the area. We will hike in to stakkholtsgjá (canyon) before we visit básar and walk around. Þórsmörk tour is a great day were you can get a fun time in the car river crossing and hiking in a beautiful surroundings. If you are not a hiker, we can skip the hike and just drive around the area.
