A Screaming Experience.
What a fun tour to do with my two girlfriends on our holiday. Out of the three of us two were believers and I was the sceptical one, I was also the one that run out of the cell screaming, lol. The rods that we used to communicate with the spirits of the convicts were going off answering the questions that we asked.......the rods moved with a force, swinging around and hitting my girlfriends arm. It was an awesome experience, best fun ever. The three tour guide were brilliant, very knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to telling us stories of the convicts who were executed at the prison. I didn't know what to expect but I'm so glad we did this tour......best fun ever...

Being locked in a cell while ghost hunting! Was good fun and also got some history of the gaol. Be nice if it was a bit longer

Although we never had any paranormal activity, we really enjoyed the ghost tour , very informative on the history of the people who were incarcerated there. Haven’t had chance to look at our footage that we took ourselves. Highly recommend, both tour operators were friendly and very knowledgeable….thank you

When the rods started moving on their own, pointing that they were standing behind me. Wish there was a bit more paranormal activity for us.

Made some sort of contact using the investigation tools. After years of wondering, I truly believe last night I had an experience. Was a surreal experience.

We were not alone

I was not sure what to expect but really enjoyed the tour. The 2 guides were knowledgeable about the history of the Gaol. I had not expected to be given equipment to test for the presence of ghosts and closed into one of the cells (optional), which really added to the tour. As I was travelling alone I was buddied up with a couple and all 3 of us observed and felt some things that could not have been faked.

Learning about the history of the gaol and it’s inmates and their terrible living conditions the darkness ads to the experience

The history of the goal was really interesting, me and my girlfriend are from Melbourne so it was good to get to know a little bit about SA history. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. The guides were also very nice and helpful

Our guide was excellent. Really enjoyed reading the stories of individual prisoners on the cell walls! Lots of interesting facts and there’s no doubt it’s a legitimately spooky site… with last night’s wet and windy weather it was the perfect atmosphere 👌🏼 Would definitely recommend this tour!

Adelaide Gaol Ghost Tour and Paranormal Investigation
Not sure what to expect after mixed reviews. Was not disappointed, the guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the prison. We had a great time using the detection equipment as well. Great activity inside of the new area with orb activity viewed on our phone and to the naked eye. Would definitely recommend a visit. If you’re just going there for ghost hunting you’ll be disappointed because that only happens twice during the two hour tour. But if you enjoy the history side then it’s great value for money. One suggestion would be to spend a bit longer in the new section and use a range of the detection equipment, but that’s my only suggestion.

The Ghosts of Adelaide Gaol

Some consider Adelaide Gaol one of Australia’s most haunted places, and ghost sightings are common. Unquiet spirits include: Fred Carr, hanged in 1927 for murdering his wife, an act he denied to the end; William Baker Ashton, the jail’s first governor, who died under false suspicion of wrongdoing; and 19th-century hangman Ben Ellis, who hanged the only woman ever executed in South Australia.
