Hahndorf

Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf, SA

The Basics

The small town of Hahndorf is easy to explore on foot with lots of attractions situated along the central Main Street. Browse shops full of hand-crafted gifts, homemade foods, and traditional Bavarian items such as cuckoo clocks; pop into the Hahndorf Academy to admire local art and learn more about the town’s history; and visit the former home of the renowned landscape artist Hans Heysen.

Wine lovers often stop in Hahndorf while touring the wineries and vineyards of the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills. You can also pair a visit to the town with a stop at a local farm, such as Beerenberg Farm, which offers seasonal berry picking.

Beautiful Hahndorf afternoon
It was great being picked up and dropped back to our hotel. We had a wonderful afternoon tour and our tour guide was informative and friendly. Hahndorf was absolutely beautiful and a must see while in Adelaide. We also enjoyed an afternoon tea and cake. Would have liked a little more time to explore the shops but thoroughly recommend.

Barossa and Hahndorf Day Trip from Adelaide Including Wine Tasting and Lunch
I really enjoyed this tour. It wasn’t rushed like some can be. The staff at the wineries knew their subject and were friendly and informative. The lunch at Lamberts was superb. The afternoon in Hahndorf was interesting too. A special shout out to Roger, our tour guide. He was so friendly and knowledgeable and kept us at our ease throughout the trip. Well done Roger!

Ultimate Adelaide City and Hahndorf Tour
Adelaide and Hahndorf are very beautiful cities. It was difficult to understand the tour guide/driver because of a very poor quality audio system on the bus

Barossa and Hahndorf Day Trip from Adelaide Including Wine Tasting and Lunch
We really enjoyed our tour. Phil, our guide, was excellent. Lunch at Lambert winery was fantastic (the wine was good too!). Hahndorf is a pretty village, although a lot of the shops were closed when we visited. Managed a stein in one of the pubs though!

Bob provides a wonderful service, including old fashioned assistance like opening/closing doors for you and carrying your bags. We had a lovely day and were fortunate to hear his stories on life; so interesting!

I had such a wonderful time on thee tour to the Adelaide Hills wineries. First we stopped at Mt Lofty and the looked over the city of Adelaide. Danny gave such a good introduction to the founding of Adelaide and Hahndorf. The lunch was good and the wineries were beautiful. There was quite a deletion of the different wines in the area.Danny’s funny jokes and insight made all the more enjoyable.

Adelaide Hills, Hahndorf and McLaren Vale Tour
We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with Roger from Ambler touring. He was full of local knowledge and tips on where to go or what to see and explore further if we return to SA and the pace was comfortable and relaxing while covering the highlights with a focus on our interests and tastes, I would book with them again if we come back :)
