4a Calle Oriente #14, Antigua, Guatemala

The basics

Visitors can enter and browse the exhibits of the ChocoMuseo for free. Exhibits are designed to be self-guided, though there are staff on hand to show you around and further explain the displays. For a more hands-on experience, opt for a chocolate workshop, during which you can make your own chocolate bar, as well as preparing and sampling Maya-style cacao drinks. If you’re on a tight time schedule or are traveling with children, you may want to opt for a shorter chocolate workshop instead.

The ChocoMuseo also hosts regular cooking classes that showcase Guatemalan cuisine. Learn how to make typical Guatemalan dishes such as pepián (traditional Guatemalan chicken stew). Some food-oriented tours of Antigua combine market visits and food tastings with a trip to the museum.

This workshop was amazing. They started on time and were organized. Our workshop instructor was so sweet and funny. I would 100% recommend this workshop for solo travelers (me) and group travelers. I met another solo travel here, so it’s a good place to meet people if you’re traveling alone.

Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Workshop in ChocoMuseo Antigua
This was a cute tour and a great way to spend a couple hours my first day in Antigua. The hosts were knowledgeable, energetic and engaging, and made sure that we all had a great time. They're part of a larger shop, where you can buy hot or cold drinks and other choco keepsakes. Recommended.

Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Workshop in ChocoMuseo Antigua
I wasn't expecting much from this experience since I was told it is touristy. And, while it kind of is, it's a nice 2 hour experience. If you can't get out of Antigua for a more authentic chocolate experience this is definitely a fun thing to do. For adults and kids alike.
