Lacock

Lacock Abbey High Street, Lacock, England

The basics

Included in the Domesday Book and established roughly 1,000 years ago, the historical village of Lacock offers a snapshot of England’s history. Located at the southwestern edge of the Cotswolds near Bath, Lacock was once a center for milling. Today, it’s home to multiple Grade I and II listed landmarks, from Lacock Abbey and St. Cyriac’s Church to the Sign of the Angel inn and Lacock Bridge, over the River Avon.

Lacock features on numerous Cotswolds itineraries and is often paired with visits to Bath, Stonehenge, or Salisbury. Small-group and private tours offer a personal way to explore the area.

Exceptional day!
The whole day was an exceptional experience. Our tour guide, Peter, was both knowledgeable and very funny, and kept the fun and interest going all trip. All three locations were great, with Stonehenge being spectacular. We learned so much in one day, and had much fun. Highly recommended.

Inner Circle Access of Stonehenge including Bath and Lacock Day Tour from London
The Roman baths were incredibly interesting and Stonehenge was amazing. Our guide Toby was really fun and had some great facts throughout the whole tour. The only downside was at Lacock where our lunch was ordinary. I understand that it’s the oldest pub in England but lunch at Bath would have worked better. We didn’t get lunch until 4:45pm and when we got to Stonehenge the cafe and gift shop were both shut. Other than that the tour was really good.

Walking inside the circle of stones at Stonehenge was just awe inspiring! A unique opportunity to be up close in a place of such historical importance. The Roman Baths, the town of Bath, and the village of Lacock took us back in time as well! Just a wonderful experience we will not forget!

We had a wonderful day. The private driver made the experience luxurious and gave us a break from the crowds. He was accommodating and communicated with us before the trip so we were prepared for the day.

Walking amongst the inner circle was really cool! Definitely worth the tickets!! Frank, the tour guide, and Paul the coach driver were both great as well. The seats on the coach were a tad cramped if you're a bigger person, just fyi.

We left at 530 am which put us there ahead of many tourists. We were able to leisurely view the area. The local guide was excellent and the weather almost perfect

My family and I had a great time on this tour. I’m so glad we decided to do the inner circle. Amazing opportunity! Bath was such a beautiful little town and of course Stonehenge was a bucket list type of activity. We really enjoyed eating at The George in Lacock. Our guide and driver were awesome! Great day!

Great tour - highly recommend!! Our guide Andrew was fantastic - very knowledgeable, considerate & humorous. We saw lovely sites during the trip, learned a lot, as well. It gets cool and breezy when the sun sets, so bring a jacket. Easy walking. Went with my 83 y.o, mother who had no difficulty.
