"Tumpak Sewu was breathtaking. A bit steep and scary climbing down (for someone scared of heights), but absolutely worth it. So much to see and experience and there were barely any other people there while we were there. We had a perfect day and perfect weather for Bromo. Lots of people, but the views over the caldera were stunning. The walk up to Bromo's Crater rim was relatively easy with a concrete staircase on the steepest section. The sight and the sound of the bubbling volcano is definitely worth the visit, and for the more adventurous, you can walk further around the Crater rim. The walk to Ijen starts in darkness and involves moderate effort to get to the top. The decent into the volcano requires care, but worth it if you are lucky enough to catch the blue flame. Sunrise over the volcano reveals the Crater lake and the incredible scale of what you had navigated in darkness. There is a fair bit of driving over the three days to get to these destinations, but we enjoyed the opportunity to see the landscape and Java life pass by. Our driver, Herii, and our guides Herii (Tumpak Sewu) and Warno (Ijen) were fantastic, making sure we were safe, enjoying every moment and helping us take loads of amazing photos. We would definitely recommend this tour. It was one of the highlights of our 4 week trip through Indonesia."

"We booked this tour as a group of 5 friends, all 20 yo. Our guide was amazing! We had a guide for us 5, there weren't other people with us. Our guide was very nice and funny, explained us many things about the mount, took us to the best places for taking pictures. The sunrise on the mountains was very beautiful! We had a delicious breakfast included in the price we paid for the tour. Our guide took us to places with a great view where they weren't other tourists! He really knew the place. After, he brought us to a waterfall and we only had to pay the entry ticket. This was a wonderful experience!"

"Superb trip. We were picked up at 00.15 and driven to the start (which opens at 02.00). Our guide Jee was great and took good care of us, making sure we were safe and having a good time. The trek up took about 90 minutes, but we did it quite quickly. The climb down into the crater is about 30 mins, followed by impressive views of the blue fire and sulfur vents and miners. We then went back up the crater and to the sunrise viewpoint, which was beautiful. We were provided with good gas masks (absolutely essential). We were picked up earlier than stated (at our request), and they kindly dropped us off at the ferry terminal afterward. A note of caution - the hike isn't for the unfit, and can be steep and slippery at times. But it's well worth it. Great tour. Would book again."
