Top 9 attractions in Flagstaff
Wupatki National Monument
1,600
Walk in the footsteps of the Native American tribes who built their pueblos in the deserts of the American Southwest at Wupatki National Monument. For thousands of years, tribes like the Anasazi and Sinagua lived in these rugged deserts, and among the myriad pueblos left behind is Wupatki Ruin, one of the largest and most elaborate in the region. It was three stories tall and had almost 100 rooms when the Sinagua people built it about 800 years ago. Along with exploring the ruins of a dozen pueblo villages, visitors can also hike the easy Doney Mountain Trail to the top of a volcanic cinder cone, and the visitor center has exhibits describing the culture and history of the people that lived here.More
Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument
1,600
The red rim and colorful slopes of the Sunset Crater set it apart amongst the surrounding pine forests of Northern Arizona. The Sunset Crater erupted less than 1000 years ago, making it the youngest volcano on the Colorado Plateau. You can learn about the eruption’s effects on the landscape and historic populations on a visit to the park.More
Coconino National Forest
1,081
The towns of Flagstaff and Sedona both sit within the Coconino National Forest, a 1.9-million acre area of protected land fringed by four additional national forests. Many of the natural attractions around Flagstaff can be found within Coconino National Forest, such as the San Francisco Peaks—including the 12,600-foot Humphreys Peak—and the Sunset Crater National Monument. Visitors can find ample outdoor adventures within the forest, from fishing and swimming holes along Wet Beaver Creek to hiking and biking on red rock trails like those around Carroll Canyon.More
San Francisco Peaks
389
A collection of once violent volcanoes dots the rugged high desert north of Flagstaff. Collectively called the San Francisco Peaks, or just ‘The Peaks’ by locals, today they sit dormant, offering a wilderness playground for adventurous visitors keen to hike, climb, bike or ski. The tallest is Humphrey’s Peak towering 12,633 feet, where hearty hikers can tackle a nine-mile, round-trip hike to its top. For wildlife spotting, lower elevation trails like Little Bear Trail wind through ponderosa pine, oak, and aspen forests, and the Lava River Cave offers great views and an exciting walk through a lava tube. The 44-mile Peaks Loop road is perfect for car-based sightseeing, while winter visitors can hit the slopes at Wing Mountain or the Snowbowl Ski Area.More
Bearizona Wildlife Park

Driving through the Bearizona wildlife park offers the thrilling opportunity to spot a stunning number of wild animals. Watch as a black bear lumbers through the forest or a wolf sneaks slowly through the grass, and see Bighorn sheep, bison, and burros graze in the forested setting.More

Filled with American Indian artifacts, fine art, and natural science displays, the Museum of Northern Arizona is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Colorado Plateau. Mother Road Brewing Company
1
To sample some of Flagstaff’s best craft beers, head to Mother Road Brewing Company. Named after Historic Route 66, which was nicknamed the Mother Road in its heyday, the brewery sits just a couple blocks from the iconic highway that runs through the center of town. The brewery is located in the Milum Building, a former commercial laundromat that has been repurposed in an ideal spot to grab a pint after a day of adventuring in the surrounding mountains and high desert. Their artfully crafted beers include complex flavors like the mesquite honey and British hops of the English Barleywine-style 4th Anniversary Ale or the coffee and orange notes of the popular chocolate stout Lost Highway.More

Beaver Street Brewery
0
A popular gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, Beaver Street Brewery is an easy-going bar and restaurant like you hope to find in any town that prides itself on the adventurous nature of its surroundings. During the summers, it’s a hub of river guides, mountain bikers, and road trippers cruising Route 66. Under the warm sunshine, crowds gather in the outdoor beer garden to eat and drink against a great view of the San Francisco Peaks. Come winter, the ski crowd piles inside for burgers, pizzas and fondue alongside bold, award-winning beers like Big Rapid Red and Hopshot IPA.More
Historic Route 66
2,966
Spanning eight states and 2,448 miles (3,940 kilometers), Historic Route 66 has become a cultural icon, immortalized in song and on the silver screen. This romanticized road trip from Chicago to Santa Monica offers drivers an inside look at classic America—kitschy roadside attractions, diners, historic motels, and plenty of 1950s nostalgia.More

Grand Canyon Railway Adventure Package
The couch tour, was good as well because you got to see two famous viewpoints, without walking (you get out of the bus, but you don't have to walk to these locations from the train platform).
First time we went to the Grand Canyon we did it via a tour from Flagstaff. During that trip we learned about the train. This time we did the train, first class, with motor coach tour of the south rim. The train was great, and better than traveling by car imho. The couch tour, was good as well because you got to see two famous viewpoints, without walking (you get out of the bus, but you don't have to walk to these locations from the train platform). Well worth it imho. For little kids they have a bank and train robbery (beginning and end of trip), they have people who play live music, and great cabin attendants.
Awesome experience! We'll worth it!

Small-Group Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Tour from Flagstaff
I appreciated that she took us to see an additional view of Lake Powell.
Cat was our tour guide and picked us up at our hotel in Flagstaff right on time. She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the area as we headed up to Page. The stops at Horseshoe Bay and Glen Canyon dam were great. I appreciated that she took us to see an additional view of Lake Powell. Great Vista! We stopped for lunch at Gone West in Page and visited with others in our tour group. It was nice that Cat had cold bottled water for us so we could stay hydrated. Tim was our guide for the Antelope Canyon. He was enthusiastic and gave us a fun experience driving thru the washed road. He gave us a good history about how the rock formations were created and educated us on the flash flooding that happens. He pointed out things inside the Canyon that we didn't see until he showed us. He was very patient with all if us taking pictures and we LOVED that he helped us capture the light by either helping us take pictures or taking them for us so we would get the most colorful photos. It was a tour well worth the price!

Small-Group Grand Canyon Day Tour from Flagstaff
Finally, because of the route Scott drove us, we avoided lines at the entrance to the canyon and got to see completely different scenery on each leg of the journey, which was almost as great as the canyon itself!
I cannot brag enough about how excellent Scott was as a guide. There are few things more amusing than listening to someone with a passion speak about it, and Scott’s passion is very clearly the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. He taught us SO MUCH about the area, everything from Native tribes and Flagstaff history to geology, botany, and astrology. We had more than enough time at each of the viewpoints, and Scott was always happy to take photos for us. He even brought along a telescope and focused it on neat things like the rapids and suspension bridge of the Colorado River below. Lunch was great! Much more than just a simple lunch meat sandwich. Artisan bread with tons of meat on the sandwich with fresh fruit and pasta salad was a huge plus! The bus was brand new and extremely comfortable, and the group was only 7 people as advertised. There were snacks and drinks available at all times. Finally, because of the route Scott drove us, we avoided lines at the entrance to the canyon and got to see completely different scenery on each leg of the journey, which was almost as great as the canyon itself! 12/10! Take this tour and ask for Scott if you can!

Small-Group Grand Canyon Day Tour from Flagstaff
Gavin also took the time to make suggestions of other places near to the Flagstaff area to visit while we were in the area.
The tour that we booked with Grand Canyon Adventures was nothing less than EXCELLENT. As it turned out, our small group tour ended up being my wife and myself. To say the least, the entire tour was completely personalized. We were given the unusual opportunity to not only see the sites advertised, but others also on the way to and from The Grand Canyon. Our tour guide Gavin was right on time in picking us up at our Flagstaff hotel. The vehicle was perfect and comfortable. travel refreshments, plenty of drinks and snacks were also offered throughout our tour. At every stop in our tour, our tour guide - Gavin - was very knowledgeable and informative with each site we stopped. We never felt rushed, and my wife and I both felt that the canyon was well presented to us. Gavin even took the time to set up a telescope in two different areas to give us better visuals of those particular areas he was presenting to us. Gavin arranged for us to have lunch at the famous El Tovar Hotel. We were also given very adequate, unrushed shopping time at two different areas. Not to be redundant in our travel to and from The Grand Canyon, two different travel routes were taken which made our entire tour feel fresh. Gavin also took the time to make suggestions of other places near to the Flagstaff area to visit while we were in the area. As you can probably tell, my wife and I really did enjoy our full day of touring. We both most definitely highly recommend the Grand Canyon Adventures small group tour out of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Grand Canyon South Rim Day Trip from Flagstaff
The 4 of us choose the helicopter package, which really was amazing to see the Grand Canyon from above.
Loved the fact that this was a small group, there were 10 of us in total! We were a group of 4 together, we got picked up on time at the Drury Inn in Flagstaff. Our guide for the day, J.R., was great, full of stories and information about Arizona and the Grand Canyon! The 4 of us choose the helicopter package, which really was amazing to see the Grand Canyon from above. The only wish we had was that our pilot had engaged with us other than saying hello and introducing himself then asking if we were doing ok a couple of times, he didn't do any other talking, it was just music and a narrative on the headsets. But the view was fantastic!
After that it was off to the Grand Canyon, J.R. took us to many spots all just a beautiful as the next, and a nice surprise from him, he had a telescope and met us down one of the trails and showed us lots of cool stuff looking through the telescope! The place he took us for lunch had something for everyone and was very well run, and the food was good.
J.R. did not hesitate to stop on the side of the road when he saw something cool he thought we would like and let us all have a look again with the telescope We saw many different areas throughout the South Rim each one as breathtaking as the next.
We would and will highly recommend this tour and also J.R., there was never a dull moment with him!

Grand Canyon South Rim Day Trip from Flagstaff
This is a great way to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon.
This is a terrific way to tour the Grand Canyon. Our guide confirmed our pick up time at Flagstaff the day before. He was prompt to pick us up at the hotel. Eduardo was very knowledgable about the history of the Grand Canyon as well as the entire culture both past and present of the surrounding area. He gave us adequate time to tour at the drop off points and kept the entire group on scheduling by defining the time to return to the van. The tour was well organized and allowed us to enjoy the sights. This is a great way to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Small-Group Grand Canyon Day Tour from Flagstaff
This was well worth the cost and much more informative than trying to visit the Grand Canyon on you own.
This was my wife and myself first visit to the Grand Canyon. It is an amazing spectacle hard to take in the size of the canyon and the time it took to create it.
We made up the whole small group so it was like a private tour. Scott, our guide, was awesome sharing his wealth of knowledge about the history and geology of the park and really the whole Flagstaff area. He was both engaging and offered us time to explore parts of the park on our own. We hiked along the rim, near the village, on a paved path for about a mile or so and got to explore the watch tower on our own too. We brought binoculars and cameras with zoom lenses along with us, and Scott set up his spotting scope for us to view the more detailed and distant sites.
This was well worth the cost and much more informative than trying to visit the Grand Canyon on you own. Great experience!!!
