The Basics

The view from the summit of Mt. Wellington is one of the highlights of a visit to Hobart, and it’s possible to hike or drive to the top. Guided tours often combine a photo stop on Mt. Wellington with other Hobart attractions, such as Richmond Historic Village, Tahune Airwalk, or Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (where you can see Tasmanian devils). Adventurous types can also opt to hike the mountain; it's about a 3-hour hike to the summit lookout point.

Driver was very friendly and although it was raining in Hobart when we left we still were pointed out the different levels of vegetation, rocks etc on waybup and luckily the skies cleared to have a great view. The driver said it would be cold up at the top and it sure was but added to the whole experience. Totally recommend this trip dven if it is raining.

Day Tour in Mt. Field, Mt. Wellington, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Richmond
What a gorgeous place and this tour gave us nature and animals all in one. The Tall Trees and waterfall walk was simply stunning and a great start to the tour. The wildlife sanctuary was fantastic-we got to feed a kangaroo! Richmond is a beautiful town and the views on Mt Wellington were breathtaking. We loved every minute and Jarrod was a fantastic, informative guide.

Exciting ride to the summit, great driver, spectacular views, what’s not to like. Blessed with parting clouds we could breath in the amazing mountainous Tasmanian East coast and surrounding seascapes!

Great bus driver . The mountain was covered in fog so visibility was not great. The driver rounded everyone up who was lagging behind with a final head count. Also stopped for us to see view on way up and down at different spots. Great trip.
