Immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture with a visit to a traditional luau. Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the luau, where you'll be greeted with a lei and a cocktail. During the course of the evening, you'll have your fill of Hawaiian food while watching a live Polynesian show. You'll also have the chance to participate in additional activities, including headband weaving.

In ancient Hawaii, royalty celebrated the local culture and special occasions by organizing feasts of mea'ai (food), hula (dance), and mele (songs). The word luau came from one of the foods served at the feast. Mele Luau pays tribute to the culture of Hawaii with authentic food, dances and songs of Hawaii and Polynesia. Enjoy a lei greeting, welcome drink, pupus (hors d'oeuvre), and pre-show activities before you experience a Samoan cooking demonstration in an umu. Featuring a feast of traditional luau food plus some vegetarian specials and children’s favorites is sure to please. The bar has tropical favorites, wine and local craft beer. The show is a Polynesian Love Story with traditional dances including the Hula, Haka, Siva, and Otea, spectacular fireknife dancing, and some special surprises.

Aloha Kai Luau is located at Sea Life Park which is a marine mammal park, bird sanctuary, and aquarium. Sea Life Park is Hawaii's best wild life marine park & aquarium. You can either drive yourself or you can be escorted via tour bus while you enjoy the interesting and entertaining commentary by the driver. Some of the places you will pass are on the way to Aloha Kai Luau are Diamond Head, Koko Head, Hanauma Bay, Lanai Lookout, Halona Blowhole, Sandy Beach, Makapuu Beach, and Makapuu lighthouse. Again, Just 25 minutes from Waikiki which is much closer than other luaus where you have to get on the highway and drive up to 90 minutes, the luau setting is worth the short journey — Enjoy Oahus highest sea cliffs towering behind with moonlit skies reflecting off to Deep blue Pacific Ocean in your front view.

The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade. The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular. The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.
