Aqua Planet Jeju is an aquarium and educational center. Highlights include the Five Oceans, where tanks house animals from the Indian, Pacific, Arctic, Antarctic, and Atlantic oceans; Penguin Planet, home to African penguins; and the Tunnel Tank, where you can admire round-faced spotted seals. There are also educational touch pools full of starfish.
Aquaplanet is a popular attraction for marine life enthusiasts and families.
Pre-book skip-the-line admission tickets to avoid waiting in line.
The aquarium is fully accessible for travelers using wheelchairs or strollers.
There is a gift shop and a food court on site.
Aqua Planet is open year-round. It typically takes about two hours to enjoy all of the aquarium’s attractions, and the last entry is roughly one hour before closing. Performances and talks take place throughout the day. The aquarium is particularly crowded during Korean school holidays.
The easiest way to reach Aqua Planet is to book a round-trip transfer service. To reach the aquarium from Jeju City via Public Transportation, take the 201 bus to Seongsan, then transfer to bus number 295, which takes you to the Dongmoruwat stop, located about a 10-minute walk from the aquarium.
As well as boasting thousands of marine creatures, Aquaplanet Jeju also hosts thrilling performances. On the 2nd floor, you’ll find a 3D theater, where a gigantic screen takes you to the waters surrounding Jeju. You can also watch synchronized swimming performances, shows featuring sea lions and dolphins, and a demonstration of Jeju’s famous female haenyeo free divers.
