Tarangire National Park is popular for having the largest number of elephants per square foot as well as baobab trees. With its beautiful scenery  proximity this park is usually assigned with the northern circuit itinerary along with other national parks like Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The elephants fill this park like cattle while the lions roam the grassland plains looking for their prey. Due to water scarcity most animals in the summer would be found along the riverbed digging for water. It is close to Arusha town making ideal for a day visit.

Northern Circuit, The Umbwe route has a well-deserved reputation of being the most challenging route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Due to the fast ascent to high altitude, this route does not provide the necessary stages for acclimatization. Although the number of people on this trail is very low, the chances of success are also low. Umbwe is considered to be very difficult, taxing route - one that should only be attempted by strong hikers who are confident in their ability to acclimatize quickly to altitude. Approaching from the south, the Umbwe route is a short, steep and direct climb. After reaching Barranco Camp, the trail turns east and traverses underneath Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field on a path known as the Southern Circuit before summiting from Barafu. Descent is made via the Mweka route.

ENTANDROPHRAGMA EXCELSUM. Entandrophragma excelsum, is Africa's tallest indigenous tree native to tropical East Africaand occurs in eastern D.R.of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawiand Zambia. This species is scattered in areas of upland semi-deciduous forest, in mid-altitude and montane rainforest, at (925 –) 1280 – 2150 altitude. It is locally also found in riverine forest. Largest extant specimen of Entandophragma Excelsum (Swahili Mkukusu) at the slopes of Kilimanjaro (Mbokomu Moshi rural) measured at 81.5 m, being the tallest known tree in Africa. Marangu Route is one of the oldest and most preferred routes on Kilimanjaro. It is the easiest path on the mountain due to its gradual slope and direct path. It is the only route on Kilimanjaro as it has hut accommodations for the hikers making it popular among the tourists. Marangu Route is therefore also known as “tourist route". Marangu Route has three hut accommodations: Mandara Huts, Kibo Huts, and Horombo Hut. These hut accommodations provide bunk beds. There are 60 bunks beds each at Mandara huts, Kibo huts, however, there are 120 bunk beds at Horombo Hut.
