Things to Do in Las Terrenas

Once an active port for the British slave trade, the town of Las Terrenas on the northwestern edge of Samana is home to people of Taino, Spanish and African descent—making it one of the most diverse destinations of this tiny province. Travelers flock to its pristine beaches, tucked perfectly between towering mountains and scenic Coson Bay.

Its close proximity to the El Limon waterfall, as well as Parque Nacional Los Haitises, is just part of what makes Las Terrenas a destination for the outdoors. Cruise through the area or try your hand at kite boarding or windsurfing at one of the town’s exclusive schools as a wild water daredevil. More laid-back travelers relax on the town’s white sandy beaches.
