The Basics

The Guard Mounting ceremony begins with the New Guard marching from Wellington Barracks to Buckingham Palace with a marching band, while the mounted Horse Guards Parade leaves from the Hyde Park barracks and crosses The Mall to St. James's Palace. The official guard change then takes place in the palace forecourt. Some London walking tours include a timed stop at the palace to see the event, while other tours combine a viewing with a visit to the Tower of London or a whirl on the London Eye.

Best of Royal London including Tower of London, Changing of the Guard and Cruise
Natalie our tour guide was knowledgable and provided insight about so much throughout each destination. She offered to take pictures of our group at numerous points of interest and were some of our best pictures on our trip and included all of us. She knew the best spots to view changing of the guard where we felt like we had front row seats.
A positive experience inspite of not receiving what was hoped for.

Changing of the Guard Walking Tour
The weather did not cooperate. Rain denied the opportunity of seeing the Changing of the Guard. We were disappointed but our tour guide regrouped and provided us with a wonderful walking tour inspite of areas being blocked due to the upcoming marathon and detoured us around protestors.

Coach tour .. mostly drive by, not baby photo opportunities, 2 visits st souls and Tower of London. Disappointed no changing of the guard (need to exclude this from the tour write up) as it is misleading. Tour guide was good

Changing of the Guard Walking Tour Experience
My guide “RAF” was extremely knowledgeable, funny and helpful. He also had our group’s safety first and foremost, and to be honest … some of them definitely needed supervision 🙄 Professionally ran with super friendly service. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Frank was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He took time to share lots of information with our group as we waited on the long line at the Tower of London and answered questions on a wide variety of topics. He made the excursion really interesting and also took the extra time to see us to the final stop, the London Eye. Thanks to Frank, our tour was a memorable experience.
