Things to do in  Montego Bay

It was fun to see parts of Montego Bay that we wouldn't normally get to see and hear some facinating history. Then we had time to do some shopping and then lunch at Margaritaville. Our tour guide was great!

Montego Bay weather was incredible. The resort was beautiful and offered a ton of activities. Would highly recommend a beach cabana for a day.

Copely was our tour guide. He did a phenomenal job showing us around Montego Bay. He was on time, knowledgeable and provided the best tour experience. If you want to see and know the history and have fun at the same time, this is the tour and he is the guide to experience it with.

My daughter and I had the opportunity to visit the lounge in Montego Bay yesterday. What a treat. Great food. Nice people. Exceptionally clean and the Bathrooms were the cleanest ever. Well kept and well serviced lounge to relax in before your flight.

My group and I really enjoyed ourselves during this food tour. Our guide, Dale, was very knowledgeable about the rich history of Jamaica and the cuisine. It was also nice to see a different side of Montego Bay! The fruit stand was my favorite. We also stopped at a souvenir shop. My only con is that I would have loved to be able to shop for souvenirs from the locals in the area. There were some great shops in the “non tourist” shops that we would have liked to spend more time discovering.

Dwayne our driver picked us up exactly on time and was a good guide. It is though about an Hour and Half drive to the Blue Hole from Montego Bay. At the Blue Hole you are taken to the Blue Hole by Blue T Shirted Guides who do expect a Tip at the end. During the climb to the actual hole you do pass various stalls where you can but drinks and souvenirs. No prices shown so you may have to haggle. As you do not take any money with you into the Blue Hole you have to pay at the end. Would recommend that you take waters shoes or you can buy some there. The experience was good. We were then taken back to Dunns River, where you do have to pay to enter. If you want a guided tour up the falls you have to pay again for the guide. The falls do get very crowded especially with the groups being guided which can make it a bit difficult to climb. Would highly recommend that you do take water shows for the climb. Climbing the falls was a great experience. Do expect to get very wet. Even though we booked a private tour we did not end up with that because on pick up we were told that we would be picking up another family at another hotel. We could not do anything about this at the time. This is where things went a awry as this other family were at least 30 minutes if not 40 minutes late coming to the pick up. This then had a knock effect of the time available at the hole and falls and you were also then having agree what you did as a group. So BEWARE even though advertised as a Private Tour it may not turn out to be that.

We were staying in an all-inclusive resort at the Montego Bay Area and wanted to visit local neighborhood. Hired Hussein and team for a half-day private tour of the city. We visited downtown Montego Bay, Market area, Hip street and other areas. We were very happy we were able to see a glimpse of local lifestyle. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Montego Bay.

We didn’t know what to expect when we booked but truly loved the entire experience! Mark, our driver/guide, was punctual, responsive, knowledgeable, and, more importantly, patient enough to put up with our endless questions. So, it’s about. 2 hour drive from Montego Bay. Mark left us in very capable hands of Jaheine and Wilon at our first stop, Blue Hole. They truly were there just for us and we gracious enough to play our paparazzi with our phone cameras. Next, it was a 20 minutes ride to Dunns River. It was an extra charge for entry fee but we were game for anything. Mark Tok us what to do and where he’d be when we come out. Our guide and photographer duo were great but it was just the luck of the draw/timing? Dunns River was much more physical than Blue Hole and not for the faint of heart. Mark then took care of us all the way back to our resort. If we hadn’t already booked our airport transport/transfer, we would have used him. But there’s always next time…

It was absolutely amazing! It’s definitely a must do! The driver was so nice and told us about Jamaica and Montego Bay, we watched bob marleys documentary. Fun times jumping from the waterfalls, climbing the Dunn’s river and the lunch was delicious! Also the driver knew it was my birthday and made a surprise for me in the restaurant. They sang and we had champagne and cake! It was just perfect!💕 one love, one heart! 🇯🇲

It was a very fun trip and an excellent way to kill an entire day. Expect 2-2:30 hours of travel time from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios and same the way back. The driver does give you a tour throughout the entire drive to keep it interesting. Once we arrived, filling out waivers took another 30 minutes. Once on the boat, we went snorkeling for 30 minutes, then rode over to the falls and had a fantastic time hiking the falls. Once back on the boat, the bar was open, and we were able to have 8 drinks (We're college students) before arriving back at the marina and eating a complimentary meal at Margaritaville. Overall, worth the money in my opinion, just the travel/waiting time is keeping this review 4/5 stars.

I had A BALL!! Ringo was our driver and picked us up promptly! The ride from montego bay is an hour or so. We stopped at border jerk and got some of THE BEST jerk chicken! Bring Jamaican currency with you. We were the last group of the day..so we got to take our time. The scenery was beautiful! I got full speed on my atv at one point. You will get dirty and wet. Dress accordingly. Bring some shades because ride got dusty. I 1000% recommend this tour. Got to see the REAL Jamaica outside of resort. Vegan meal was tasty!! Or maybe it was the munchies lol. Will definitely book this excursion again on my next trip!

At first we had trouble contacting Nigel at Mighten's Tours to confirm our pick-up time two days before, and then again the day before. We wanted confirmation that the excursion was still happening, so finally the evening before we heard back and were told that pickup time would be at 8:30am, which we were not thrilled about (it didn't specify on the Viator page)... but at least we got confirmation! Plus it was needed, as it ended up being a full-day tour. We expressed right away that we wanted to be back by around 5pm, with time to freshen up before sunset. Unfortunately, on the way back from Appleton's, Nigel stopped somewhere along the way in order to get his trunk looked at (it was broken from a recent accident where he was rear-ended). We really wished that he had asked us beforehand about that stop, or better yet, waited until our tour was over before having it looked at. It felt like a detour that ended up taking us longer to get back to our resort, with a drive that's already 2 hours long...plus we were extremely tired and since lunch is not included, super hungry, so we really did not appreciate this. (It also did NOT land well to have him WhatsApp me a link to review the tour immediately after that stop had occurred, while we were still in the car and in disbelief over what had just happened.) So the tour ended on a rather sour note. Despite our request to be home by 5, we ended up being home at quarter after, in between meal times. So we had to wait over an hour still to eat, which was frustrating. Also for those expecting a quiet or peaceful ride, know that calls will be taken and made for the majority of the time. While this wasn't ideal, what was worse for me was the club music playing the whole time that was not of our taste. This made it a bit more unpleasant than it had to be, but I recognize this may not bother everyone. Otherwise, Nigel was a great tour guide who took the time to point out local plants, trees, and crops, even stopping to let us sample some local fruit like coconut and star apple, which we loved! He also took a beautiful scenic country road after YS Falls towards Appleton's, which was absolutely beautiful. YS Falls definitely exceeded our expectations, and the Appleton Estate was all that we'd hoped it be and more! One final note is that Nigel was coming from Montego Bay, so the drive for him was extra long to get us in Negril. Having known that we would have booked a tour operator out of Negril. All the above said, we still highly recommend this experience! Thank you again Nigel!

Best price with the best staff! Our driver Kenroy was amazing. He hooked us up with recommendations of things to do while in Montego Bay and even made a stop with us at a great souvenir shop on our way back to the resort. He also took the picture included in this review! 🥰 The rafting experience was so relaxing and beautiful. We purchased coconuts for $5 a piece to elevate the experience. The massages were incredible! Things to know: transportation is not included in the booking. Message YouTours on Viator to add it to the booking. It’s $30 for roundtrip transportation per person that’s paid when you are dropped off at your resort. Still cheaper than other similar bamboo rafting experiences that include transportation and start at $100-$120. You can also get a full body massage for an additional charge, I believe it’s $40.

Booked our round trip airport transfer in Jamaica through Viator because the Hoover Dam and Helicopter tours we previously booked in Vegas were fantastic. Corey’s Jamaican Tours was fabulous! They were waiting with a sign when we arrived. Delano, our driver, was professional and made us feel comfortable instantly. He was very knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy answering all of our questions. My husband and I wanted to see Jamaica off the resort, but we were hesitant since it was our first trip to the country. We could have booked a group tour through the hotel, however, we really liked Delano and knew he would undoubtedly provide a more personalized experience. We contacted Corey’s Jamaican Tours in the morning and Delano was there in a few hours! He took us to an authentic Jamaican restaurant with absolutely stunning views. Then we shopped for some souvenirs - Delano confirmed we’d get 50% off everything as soon as we entered the shop. The prices were definitely better than purchasing anything from the resort gift shop and I was able to negotiate a little more savings because I bought a few items. He took us right through the center of Montego Bay and even a Megamart (we were curious, lol). I felt they charged a very reasonable rate to have that kind of flexibility without waiting on others like you would with group tours. We felt safe the entire time. Of course I requested him for our trip back to the airport and they delivered. Thank you for such an amazing experience on our first trip to Jamaica! If we have the opportunity to visit again, we will definitely contact Corey’s Jamaican Tours and request Delano!!!

This tour is a must-do! My husband & I had a personal tour along with shopping & lunch in Montego Bay with Shamari. She has a warm personality and very welcoming. She shared jamician history, art & cultures (Coconut Water)with us. We had the opportunity to visit different areas throughout Montego Bay where she shared cultural facts about each place. The shopping on HIP STRIP was Awsome and lunch at Pier 1 was Everything! This tour was Everything! Shamari even took us by the KFC enroute back to the resort. I highly recommend this tour. Shamari is the Best!🤗

We took this tour with Extreme Jamaica Tours. We stayed in Montego Bay and Damion was our tour guide Our pick up time was 7:30 and as per our request Damion gave us an hour extra, we loved his hospitality. He was there with us all the way through. He engaged us with interesting conversations so that we don't get bored . He allowed us to play our favorite music ,shared his hotspot connection with us so that we could access internet. We were not prepared for water rides ,he took us to a decent souvenir store to buy water shoes. Took lot of pictures for us ,and helped us capture lot of memories . He gave us a good intro about Jamaican culture and way of living. Over all super good experience with this tour and company. We loved all 3 YS Falls, Crocodile safari tour and visit to Pelican bar . Each of them was a unique experience Ride was pretty smooth ,though roads were bumpy ,Damion managed to give us smooth ride

We had an amazing trip Ricardo was really cool he showed us a lot in our way to YS Falls even let us stop at Starbucks! It was great the trip all together was a highlight for my entire family! We really appreciate it and loved this experience for our first time in Montego Bay

We absolutely loved our tour of YS Falls and Appleton Estate Distillery. Das drove us from Montego Bay to both locations, and provided us with a lot of stories and information about Jamaican history and culture along the way. I would recommend this tour to anyone, you'll have an excellent day.

The ride from Montego Bay was longer than I expected, almost 3 hours but the ride was comfortable. I felt a little rushed at YS falls but it was still great being in the waterfall and jumping off the rope swing.

To see the authentic Montego Bay our tour guide was very KNOWLEDGEABLE, and accommodating. He's the tour of person to make the tour personable. A. Johnson if you see this you were AMAZING!
