Tiki Village Cultural Centre
The basics
The Tiki Village Cultural Centre is open during the day, offering guided tours with or without participation in the handicraft workshops. Watch live demonstrations of basket weaving, braiding, pareo dyeing, and more. And in the afternoon and evening, you can catch the center’s popular dance shows. Watch grass-skirted performers during a lunchtime presentation, and see fire dancers wow the crowd to the sound of ukuleles and drums in the evening performance. You also have the option to dine on authentic Tahitian cuisine during both shows.
Things to know before you go
*Families traveling with small kids will enjoy the fire dancers. *Choose between a daytime or evening option, both available with or without a meal. *The full four-hour dinner experience includes cocktails, demonstrations, a tour of the cultural center, and dinner.
How to get there
The Tiki Village Cultural Centre is on the island of Moorea, which can be reached by ferry or a 15-minute flight from Tahiti. The center is on the west coast of the island, and is accessible from the airport and landing jetties via the main road that circles the island. Book rental car reservations ahead of time, especially on weekends.
When to get there
The center is open every day, except for Sundays and Mondays. Evening shows take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday during high season, and on Tuesdays and Fridays in the low season. Overall, the best time to visit is during the winter season (from May through October) when it’s less humid.
