Oahu Cruise Port
The Oahu Cruise Port is the gateway to Hawaii’s most populous island, home to big-name attractions such as Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Pineapple Plantation, and Diamond Head. Cruise ships dock in downtown Honolulu, the Hawaiian capital, convenient for both tours and independent exploration.
The Basics
Explore Oahu’s top attractions, such as Pearl Harbor and the Dole Pineapple Plantation, during shore excursions with convenient round-trip transportation, or make the most of Hawaii’s natural beauty on tours that cover the island’s top destinations in just one day. Popular stops include Oahu’s North Shore and Waikiki, while shark diving, snorkeling, ziplining, and wildlife cruises are also fun options. Rent a scooter to navigate the island independently or opt for bird’s-eye views on a helicopter tour.
Things to Know Before You Go
- The Oahu Cruise Port has two cruise docks—Pier 2 and Pier 11; both offer restrooms but not Wi-Fi. Head to the nearby Aloha Marketplace for other amenities.
- Prices tend to be higher across the board on Oahu, so plan accordingly.
- Don’t leave Honolulu without trying a Hawaiian lunch plate, a meat-and-carb filled dish that combines Hawaiian cuisine with the island’s Asian influence.
- The observation deck of the Aloha Tower Marketplace offers striking views over Honolulu Harbor.
How to Get to Honolulu From the Oahu Cruise Port
Cruise liners dock at Honolulu Harbor (Oahu Cruise Port) in downtown Honolulu. From the port, Honolulu is a short walk, while nearby Waikiki is best reached by taxi, shuttle, or the Waikiki Trolley Red Line. There are plenty of places to rent cars and arrange excursions at Oahu Cruise Port, and shore excursions that offer round-trip transportation depart frequently.
Port Information
The currency in Hawaii is the US dollar. English is the official language, as is Hawaiian, although you may also hear Japanese, Tagalog, and Spanish. There are ATMs at the Aloha Tower, next to the port, as well as in downtown Honolulu.
