Explore both the towns and forest of Sierra Norte on this guide hike of the Pueblos Mancomunados. You’ll learn all about the history, culture, and more of the town and community, and then you’ll head into nature. Hike on a beautiful trail with flowers, pines, oaks, and more. You’ll also hike over a hanging bridge for a little thrill.

A drive of 1:50 hrs to the town of San Isidro Roaguía (Hierve el Agua), where an authentic delicious breakfast will be waiting. As we arrive at Hierve el Agua, we will explore the whole area and look at it from many different perspectives. You will have free time at the pools where you will have a chance to refresh and swim in the healing thermal (not hot) waters of Hierve el Agua; swim, meditate, or just contemplate the beautiful view of the valley below. There are many stories about this Natural Wonder. We’ll have plenty of time to enjoy this paradise, wander around, meditate, take pictures, relax and swim. We will then begin the 7km hike down the valley to reach another secret hidden oasis! We will then go to Teotitlán del Valle, a world-famous town where colorful weavings are produced by local families. The traditional food will be served in her house just next to the looms. Many travelers comment this is the best meal they have had during their trip.

The Camino Real hike is a great way to experience the ancient vegetation of the Oaxaca region, it is like visiting a type of forest you didn’t know existed. We will be able to dip in the clean refreshing water of a river, a few miles before arriving at our destination. Connecting with the local community is an integral part of this experience. Therefore, we work with local guides and individuals throughout the day. The hike finishes at the Cerro del Jaguar (Jaguar Mountain), for a beautiful sunset and an opportunity to contemplate this Sacred space. Our fleet of bikes and helmets are in mint condition. Safety first! Meet us at Oaxaca City, to begin our vehicle ride up to the mountains at Cuajimoloyas, where a delicious local breakfast will be waiting for us. We will then begin our 32 km bike ride down the mountains. The first part of the ride goes from Cuajimoloyas to its neighbour town Benito Juarez, a 9km stretch that includes the only 2km ascent of the experience. If you choose to skip this up-hill, you can hop on the vehicle to bring you up to the hanging bridge. After enjoying these peaceful moments, we will continue riding all the way down to Teotitlan del Valle. We will arrive at Josefina & Porfirio's home, where they will share with us a delicious lunch. Their textile workshop is adjacent to their home, where they will show us the interesting techniques they use to create the beautiful rugs that this vibrant town is known for. We will then go back to Oaxaca. There is no doubt that this will be a highlight of your trip.

You will get a close-up look at some of the most interesting towns and communities.
