London Court
The basics
Built in 1937 in the Tudor style, London Court is easy to visit with its central location near other city attractions—such as Stirling Gardens, St. George’s Cathedral, and Perth’s main shopping district. Walking tours of the CBD typically include London Court, as it’s a pedestrian-only lane.
Things to know before you go
- Most visitors spend 5–10 minutes here to walk along the lane and take photos, but shopping is available for those interested.
- The shops sell a variety of goods, including shoes, jewelry, and art.
- A couple of cafes offer coffee and other beverages.
How to get there
London Court stretches one block from Hay Street to St. George’s Terrace, between Barrack and William streets. It’s a short walk from the Perth station or the Barrack Street Jetty, making it easy to access via train and ferry. The free CAT buses also stop nearby.

When to get there
The shops are generally open late morning to early evening; go during the day to take in the busy atmosphere of the CBD. The area empties out after working hours.
The Clocks
Both entrances of London Court are marked by clocks. The Hay Street clockface is a replica of the Great Clock in Rouen, France. The clock at the St. George’s Terrace entrance was modeled after London’s Big Ben.
