Swan River

Riverside Drive,Perth City Foreshore, Perth, WA

The Basics

Enjoy the Swan River by doing some fishing, water skiing, or swimming, or simply taking a picnic to the water’s edge. You can take a cruise to go wine tasting, see the river on a tour of the city, or go running or biking along the waterfront. Popular sightseeing cruises provide views of yacht clubs, quiet bays, and impressive riverside homes, and some include lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you can also see the river from above on a helicopter tour.

Belated Valentines Dinner Date

Perth Swan River Dinner Cruise
The food and service was of a very high standard and plenty of it, the wine was also very palatable, the young chap singing was also very very good althogh a little too loud at times. A suggestion from us would be to occasionally put the gps journey on the tv screens so you can see whereabouts on the Swan river you are, much like they do on aeroplanes! We didnt have a clue what suburbs we were travelling past. But all in all it was thoroughly enjoyable

Swan Valley River Cruise and Wine Tasting Day Trip from Perth
Very enjoyable day cruising up the Swan River, tasting wine and seeing the countryside. Very organized tour. Staff was helpful and friendly. Tastings on the boat were a pleasant, unexpected surprise. The winery stops had good tastings and selections. Lunch was good but the acoustics in the venue made it hard to interact. The brewery and chocolate stops were a nice way to end the day. Time spent at each location was ample and sufficient. Overall a good time!

1/2 day Swan Valley Wine Cheese & Chocolate Tour Inc Afternoon Cruise to Perth
Peter our bus driver was so informative and funny at the same time. We travelled in a comfy and clean bus. We visited 2 wineries sampled many wine varieties, tasted the local cheese, then visited a chocolate store. We then boarded a ferry which provided us more wine, coffee tea and cakes, Al whilst being entertained by one of the staff who had everyone singing, whilst we cruised our way back to Perth. It was a great way to spend half a day in the Swan Valley.

1/2 day Swan Valley Wine Cheese & Chocolate Tour Inc Afternoon Cruise to Perth
This was a very good 1/2 day. Took the bus up to swan valley. Stopped at 2 different wineries, wine sampling was unlimited at both and then went to the chocolate tour which we had 4 samples of chocolate liqueur. After chocolate tour went back to winery and took boat back to Perth. Boat was full but had lots deserts and fruits and unlimited wine for free. There was upcharge in some wine if wanted but otherwise free. Great overall tour. Take this tour before the full day Margert River Tour

Perth and Fremantle Tour with Optional Swan River Cruise
We only had a few days in Perth & this was a good, easy way to get a feel for the area with some local history & knowledge thrown in. Did the weekend tour to get the Fremantle markets. Could have skipped the boat trip back to Perth as we did it again the next day going to Rottnest.

When to Get There

The sun is strong in Perth in the summertime, and the open riverbanks can be hot and bright. Sunset is a great time for photos, especially at Kings Park, where you can admire the city skyline as it starts to twinkle. Firework displays light up the skies over the river on New Year’s Eve and Australia Day.
