The Villarrica Volcano is the most active in Chile! It has an open crater, it emits gases permanently and depending on its activity it is possible to see magma inside its crater. It is ideal for mountaineering, for beginners or for experienced people. The view from the summit (at 2847m) is impressive and allows you to see several lakes and volcanoes. When the volcano is covered in snow, the descent is done with sleds and it is possible to slide down the entire volcano sitting down. It is a unique experience that cannot be found on any other mountain in the world! Since November 8, 2022, the Villarrica volcano has been on yellow alert, due to increased activity, therefore there is a restriction on reaching the summit, and it is only authorized to reach an altitude of 2400m (=you cannot reach the crater for now.)

From Pucon,Chile, you’ll have a half day tour to visit two natural attractions, the Eyes of Caburgua, or Ojos del Caburgua, and Lake Caburgua.
