Quintana Roo

Quintana Roo, The Yucatan

The basics

There are many ways to get a feel for Quintana Roo, whether you’re into food, wildlife, or adventure. Spend a day at an ecopark like Xcaret or Xel-Há, or join a half- or full-day wildlife-watching excursion. Sail to and snorkel offshore spots such as Cozumel and Isla Contoy, or explore Tulum, Cancún, and Playa del Carmen, three of Quintana Roo’s biggest cities. Tours often stop at multiple Quintana Roo hot spots, which is ideal if you have limited time in the region. You can also book skip-the-line tickets in advance, guaranteeing your access to top attractions such as Chichén Itzá.

Thrilling and Fun!
Purchased tickets for a group of three, however I was the only one able to attend. The pickup location and time was smooth and the guides were helpful. I met a lotto new and interesting people on my excursions and we had a blast. I will do this again the next time I visit Tulum! Loved the Zip lining!! so decelerating :)

Amazing experience! Definitely would try it again. The guides were amazing and so nice. I didn’t find any reviews, so leaving one so other can know they should try.

The experience was fun and the staff was great. However, my group and i felt rushed the whole time and the activities were only about 15-20 minutes. This package would be great if the activities would be longer.

This is our first time experience we're so impress it's very good. Our guide of the horses ride he is great explained with clear instruction if you follow his instruction the horses ride will became very easier. The only make me very upset is the photos packages which supposed to include this horse ride photos which we expect to have it but they've not include to be aware do not buy the photos packages with them other than that overall I recommend it

Tequila tasting and Atv's were my favorite part! Really appreciated the fact that our guide separate the slow people from the rest of the group with the Atvs because they were killing the fun. Also really got to ride some serious bumps and go pretty fast. Horseback riding was pretty lame. I was bummed because that was the entire reason I picked this adventure but all you do.is sit on a horse and go around in a circle once in single file. Might be ok if you have never been on a horse in your life but I'm an avid rider so it was pretty boring. The denotes and zip lining was fun but both my boyfriend and I didn't appreciate being rushed the entire time we were in the adventure. You definitely don't get as much time as promise (except with the Atvs) and constantly telling us to hurry up was pretty annoying.

When to get there

Quintana Roo is busiest from December through April, when the weather is least humid. For a comparatively quieter (and more affordable) experience, visit in May—or in summer or fall, if you don’t mind rainstorms.

Wildlife Experiences in Quintana Roo

While Quintana Roo has its share of party-loving cities, relaxing beaches, and historic ruins, it’s also one of the best places in Mexico for wildlife enthusiasts. Swim with whale sharks off the coast of Isla Holbox between June and September, look for crocodiles in mangrove forests, or snorkel around the Great Maya Reef. Meanwhile, bird-watchers won’t want to miss Cozumel or Isla Contoy.
