The Basics

Castel Sant’Angelo is located just outside the walls of Vatican City, and many visitors combine a walking tour of St. Peter’s Basilica with a museum visit and a stroll across the picturesque Ponte Sant’Angelo bridge into central Rome. There can be a wait to enter if you don’t book skip-the-line museum tickets in advance, especially during summer. Castel Sant'Angelo and the Colosseum are two of Rome's most stunning sights to visit after sunset, so consider a Rome night tour to see both the castle and amphitheater beautifully illuminated.

Nice audio but a bit difficult to keep track of where you were, pausing and restarting. More advanced issuing if tickets would help rather than relying on download.

Castel Sant’Angelo Skip-the-Line Ticket in Rome
Excellent Skip-The-Line entry into the Castel Sant’Angelo. Very easy to follow instructions for ticket collection and included an app for your smartphone to use as an audio guide within the Castel which was nice.

Castel Sant'Angelo reserved entrance ticket
I went in Feb on a Sunday, so out of season and there were queues. All thisbticket did was allow me to Q jump, which was good. I was disappointed not to get a map and it took quite a while to find my way around, especially getting to the top. I was in and out wirhin 90 minutes, but a worthwhile trip.

Maria Alicia was wonderful! She was so knowledgeable and kind with her stories and time. She allowed us multiple opportunities to pick staying in a spot longer to observe or take photos or to continue on the tour which we appreciated! We would certainly do this again!

Be aware that what you get is the skip the line ticket only. I'm an independant traveler so it worked for me. There was a long line the day I visited so I was glad I purchased in advanced.

Rome: Guided Tour of the Secrets Beneath Castel Sant'Angelo
I lucked out and got a totally private tour, just me and the guide Fedrica. She was very friendly and gave a huge amount of information about the castle’s history. She was also very patient with me when I wanted to stop and take a few photos. Very nice view from the terrace. Thank you!
