Kunsthal Rotterdam (Art Hall Rotterdam)

Westzeedijk 341, Rotterdam, 3015 AA

The basics

Kunsthal Rotterdam doesn’t have a gallery displaying its permanent collection. Instead, visitors enjoy a rotating calendar of temporary thematic exhibitions ranging from 20th-century masters to current contemporary art movements, fashion, and photography. Notable artists featured in the museum in recent years include Andy Warhol, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Louise Bourgeois.

As the building is considered an attraction in itself, visits are often included in sightseeing tours of the city—especially those focused on Rotterdam’s impressive architecture. Taking an architecture tour is a great way to also see other attractions, such as the Cube Houses and the Erasmus Bridge, in a short time. Lines to get inside the museum can be lengthy—especially when there is a popular exhibition on display. Save time by booking your ticket in advance.

Great walking tour!
We LOVED our walking tour of Rotterdam. Our guide, Niels, was brilliant - hugely knowledgable, entertaining and the time flew by as he walked and talked us through Rotterdam's rich history, fascinating culture, beautiful architecture, cool street art and pointed out a few places for us to visit too as well as some personal anecdotes.
