The Basics
Fort Canning Park is full of well-marked trails that make it easy to explore. Highlights include the archeological site at Artisan’s Garden; the remnants of Singapore’s first botanical garden; the Raffles Garden, which showcases exotic Southeast Asian flowers; and the Sang Nila Utama Garden, which provides a space to meditate and take some time to have a mindful nature experience.
Things to Know Before You Go
Fort Canning Park dates back to the 14th-century and is home to multiple historically significant sites; excavation work on some of these sites is ongoing, and parts of the park are sometimes inaccessible.
You can experience an augmented reality version of the park with the BALIKSG app, which takes you on an interactive journey through Fort Canning’s history.
The green space is wheelchair accessible, thanks to walkways and paved paths.
There are several restaurants, a fitness area, and public restrooms inside the park.
How to Get There

Parks in Singapore
Though the city-state is known primarily as a bustling metropolis, Singapore boasts lots of green space. The most popular parks include East Coast Park, which covers hundreds of acres of reclaimed waterfront land, and MacRitchie Reservoir Park, which surrounds Singapore’s largest reservoir and features a suspension bridge that allows you to hike over the forest.
