The Basics
The Old Supreme Court Building is notable for its interior, which features murals painted by Italian artists, and a façade of Corinthian columns topped by a large green dome. The National Gallery Singapore collection inside showcases modern Singapore and Southeast Asian art, and is one of the collections of its kind in the world. Many sightseeing tours of Singapore stop at the building, including walking tours of the Colonial District.

The building is accessible to wheelchairs; admission is free to persons with disabilities and one accompanying caregiver.

How to Get There
The building is centrally located and easy to get to via public transportation. More than 15 buses stop nearby, and you can also take the MRT to City Hall Station. There’s also a taxi stand outside the Coleman Street entrance.

The building is open daily throughout the year, with extended evening hours on Fridays. The climate-controlled galleries make for an excellent place to cool off on a hot afternoon.
Making of the National Gallery Singapore
The National Gallery Singapore debuted in 2015 as the city’s newest and largest museum—it also boasts the world’s largest public collection of Southeast Asian and Singaporean art. The museum occupies two historic buildings in the city’s Civic District, the City Hall and the Old Supreme Court Building, both restored and transformed into a modern art center.
