The Awesome Peranakan Experience - Bead by Bead Be immersed in the Peranakan culture by spending a weekend at the Straits Enclave @ Joo Chiat heritage district. Led by our experience Peranakan beading expert, this workshop will be bursting with history, culture, stories and artefacts in the Peranakan Chinese Private Museum. Understanding The Peranakan Culture: Once you step into the Straits Enclave, it is like taking a step back in time into a different time dimension – 100 years back into a 1920s Peranakan home when these architecturally stunning shophouses were constructed in Joo Chiat. Guests are welcomed by a captivating ambience, followed by a feast for their eyes where they will be tickled with stories behind them. We will share the Peranakan culture and interesting stories as a Peranakan staying in the Joo Chiat district.

No lengthy lesson, just a quick introduction to the materials and tools, some quick tips and you are ready to vibe! All the materials are made available for you, simply pick up the brush and let your creativity wander and paint! Set in an open-air sun-lit studio, the atmosphere creates a relaxing and friendly environment for artistic creation. Paint on a unique 3-dimensional surface that you can display in your home without taking much space.

The session encourages you to observe and simplify lines and patterns, while exploring combinations of colours.
