Things to Do in Surfers Paradise

There are 20 different environments, each with its own unique interactive experience. Ranging from a laser room to a time warp, electron maze, and inter-dimensional space, visitors are treated to a feast for all the senses throughout. The creator of Infinity has an art background, and the innovative and immersive displays on an “electronic canvas” push the boundaries of artistic expression, eliciting powerful emotional responses. Truly a unique experience, Infinity lives up to its name by altering one’s sense of time, space and what is possible.

Look around and drink it all in; from here at the top of the SkyPoint climb on the shores of Surfers Paradise, visitors find themselves standing at the top of Australia’s highest building climb—nearly 900 feet about the surf and sandy shores below. Located atop the Q1 building, the SkyPoint climb begins up on the 77th story, where the SkyPoint Observation Deck provides epic views of the Queensland coast along with dining and drinks. When suiting up for the outdoor climb, guests will don a helmet, harness, and receive a safety briefing, before clipping in to the building’s cables and starting the journey up top. Though the climb begins at just over 750 feet, it’s nearly another 150 feet to reach the top of the SkyPoint, where the views stretch out in every direction from the Queensland hinterland off in the west to the Brisbane skyline to the north. For a spectacular way to end the day, experience sunset from 90 stories above the Queensland coast, on a twilight climb that offers a view unlike anywhere else in Australia. Combine the climb with dinner and drinks once back on the observation deck, and toast to the thrilling experience of placing the city beneath your feet.

As Australia’s biggest waterpark, WhiteWater World boasts more than 140 rides, slides, and attractions. Highlights include the Cave of Waves wave pool; the Pipeline Plunge splash zone; The Rip family raft ride; and The Wedgie, a 5-story power slide that runs along a translucent pipe and barrel.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Surfers Paradise is one of the wackiest attractions on Queensland’s Gold Coast. A collection of the weird and wonderful, it’s a prime attraction for kids, with displays you can’t see anywhere else in the world.

Ripley’s Surfers Paradise does just that. Covering 9,000 square feet, the museum hosts over 400 exhibits and artifacts in 15 themed galleries. Ripley’s is home to shrunken heads, a toilet paper wedding dress, an exhibit on the world’s tallest man, double spinning tunnels, the world’s smallest car and more. The museum is founded around Ripley’s famous quote: ‘I have traveled 201 countries and the strangest thing I’ve seen… is man.'

Journeying through the Odditorium is self-guided. Touring the museum takes, in general, at least an hour, though visitors are welcome to spend as long as they like walking through the exhibits. Guests are welcome to bring cameras as well.

Australia’s biggest Wet’n’Wild water park, in Brisbane, is a Gold Coast summer favorite featuring all the water park essentials. There's a giant wave pool, lazy river, whirlpool tub, FlowRider surf simulator, and plenty of water slides for all thrill levels.
