The Basics

A tour of Sydney’s beaches wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Bondi Beach, whether it’s to take in the ocean views, hike the Bondi to Clovelly Coastal Walk, or sign up for a surf class. Many Sydney city tours include a photo stop at Bondi, alongside other activities such as a Sydney Harbour cruise; a tour of the Manly, Paddington, and Kings Cross neighborhoods; or a day tour to the Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley. The most thrilling way to see Bondi is by zipping along the coast in a speedboat or soaring overhead on a helicopter tour.

Great lesson for novices
This was my first ever surfing lesson and I enjoyed it a lot, in spite of the weather conditions not being optimal (bit too windy). The teacher was excellent and very knowledgeable. He explained about rip currents and the basic technique, in a way that made sense and was easy to understand. Executing was harder of course, but it's all in the practice. The lesson made me want to do/learn more.

Surfing Lessons on Sydney's Bondi Beach
I surfed on Bondi beach for a day as a beginner. The water was cold but the wetsuit was provided. Our instructor was very informative and taught us the basic surfing moves then surfed for 2 hours. It was really fun!

Big Bus Sydney and Bondi Hop-on Hop-off Tour
Excellent way to explore the various Sydney landmarks and neighborhoods. Onboard recorded narration was good. The bus frequency on the Blue bus route to Bondi beach needs to be increased comparable to the Red bus City tour.

Private Sydney Full Day Tour Including Sydney Opera House, Bondi and Manly
Vic was absolutely outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the areas we toured, a great storyteller. We even asked why he wasn’t a teacher because his narration was so engaging. He moderated the time spent in each place based on what we wanted to see. He was one of the best guides we’ve had. Highly recommend his tours!

Private Sydney Full Day Tour Including Sydney Opera House, Bondi and Manly
After arriving in Sydney on a cruise we had limited time to see the sites of Sydney and get a feel for it’s many neighborhoods and history. Jeff gave us a great tour of the many districts in and around Sydney with both flexibility and fun stories. We never would have seen Sydney and all it has to offer without this tour! Definitely recommend it

Sydney Half Day Private Tour see the Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach
We had a great day! From the stop at the oldest pub in Sydney (which my oldest kid was just talking about today) to the view of the harbour to the Bondi Beach visit to all the scenic points in-between, we had a great time. Our guide vic (I am sorry if I called you Rick once) was professional, knowledgable and patient with our jet lagged 10 year old. He has a wealth if local knowledge and answered my kids' questions with so much patience! Thank you for a great time!

When to Get There

The sun shines year-round at Bondi Beach. To avoid hoards of tourists, visit outside of summer—temperatures can reach 85°F (30°C) even in spring and autumn—or get there for sunrise. Consider going on a Sunday for the famous Bondi Markets, or time your visit to coincide with an event such as the Festival of the Winds in September, the Bondi Winter Magic festival in June and July, or the open-air beach cinemas in summer.
