The Basics

Visit Mt. Fuji on a day trip from Tokyo (via bullet train) and combine with stops at hot springs, shopping villages, or Lake Ashi cruises. Even if you don’t want to climb to the peak, you can head to the Fuji Visitor Center, home to a small museum; grab a bite to eat; or enjoy views of the mountain from the observation deck. Mt- Fuji 5th Station also offers additional unobstructed views along with shrines and souvenir shops.

Fuji trip
Had a great day of sightseeing. We had Haris as our driver and he did a great job of showing us around the different spots. Sadly couldn't see Fuji due to the weather but we still had a nice day.

Private Full Day Sightseeing Tour to Mount Fuji and Hakone
Our guide Zia was excellent, he showed up punctually at the hotel, was very courteous and knowledgeable and made the trip a pleasure. The vehicle was clean, with available phone chargers and water bottles. I would definitely recommend the experience, and would be doing it again if I have the chance. Thank you!

Mt Fuji, Hakone, Lake Ashi Cruise and Bullet Train Day Trip from Tokyo
Excellent tour. Well organized with a fabulous tour guide. Marie was probably the best tour guide we ever had, so enthusiastic. We only had a glimpse of Mt. Fuji due to clouds but Hakone was gorgeous. The bullet train was a great experience. I definitely recommend this tour. Good value for the money.

Mount Fuji and Hakone Private Sightseeing Tour with english speaking driver
Having a private tour is convenient. We have visited places that otherwise we won't be able to see if we only availed of the tour bus. JK, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. Aside from that, you get yourself a photographer. 😆

When to Get There

Climbing season at Mt. Fuji falls in July and August when the weather is mildest and snow is limited. The mountain is at its most crowded during this time. If you're not climbing, clearer spring skies give the best views of Mt. Fuji's snow-capped peak.

Where to Find Great Views of Mt. Fuji

Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Mt. Fuji five lakes, provides some of the best unobstructed views of the mountain. Another popular viewing spot is Hakone, a resort town famous for its onsen, ryokan, and ropeway, where you'll find the best views. A walk on the beaches of Kamakura yields spectacular views of the mountain in the distance, and on a clear day, it's even possible to spot the peak from the top of Tokyo Sky Tree.
