The basics

The observatory is located on the 40th floor of the World Trade Center building, at a height of 499 feet (152 meters). It’s accessible from the first floor lobby. Light-up display screens show you what you’re looking at. Seats and couches throughout the observatory allow you to enjoy the view in comfort.

Book your ticket in advance for convenience. Or opt for a sightseeing tour that includes a stop at Seaside Top Observatory, in addition to other sights and activities such as the Imperial Palace and a Sumida River cruise. Specialized tours focused on photography are also available.

*Don’t forget your camera to capture stunning panoramic views from the observatory. *Tripods are allowed, making it an ideal spot for night photography *Binoculars are available for rent. *Part of the view to the west is now obstructed by a building.

How to get there

The observatory is located on the 40th floor of the World Trade Center Japan, in the Hamamatsucho district of Minato. It’s easy to get there by public transport, as the building is connected to Hamamatsucho Station (JR Yamanote and the JR Keihin Tohoku lines) and Daimon Station (Toei Oedo and Asakusa lines). Tokyo Monorail Station is also located nearby.

When to get there

The observatory is open daily from 10am to 8:30pm, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. Around Christmas, the observatory often remains open for an additional hour after the regular closing time. Visit on a clear day for the best views. Sunset is a popular time to visit the observatory.
