The Basics

There are several ways to experience Casa Cenote—sometimes known as Cenote Manatí—but most travelers find it easiest to arrive as part of an organized excursion. Combine a stop at the cenote with a sightseeing tour of Tulum; visit several cenotes in one day, including the Cenote Angelita; take a paddleboarding class in both the cenote and ocean; try your hand at scuba diving in the crystalline waters of Casa Cenote; or simply enjoy time to snorkel during a private trip. Most tours include convenient round-trip transportation.

Tulum Area Experiences Guided Snorkeling Tour - Casa Cenote + Ocean Reef & Lunch
Tour was so much fun. Starting with the Casa cenote where we saw a lot of baby fish in the mangroves. Next we rode an Ebike at a very comfortable pace to a snorkeling place by Tulum. Viewed many stingrays and a couple of turtles. Ended the tour with some great Mexican cuisine. Gracias Ricardo for a very memorable and fun time.

Paco and Ricardo were awesome tour guides! Beautiful Cenote and reef dives and some local travel tips for more places to explore during our week. 10/10 would book again.

Tulum Area Experiences Guided Snorkeling Tour - Casa Cenote + Ocean Reef & Lunch
This was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guides, Ricardo (also known as the Caribbean Pirate!) and Carlos, took us to two incredible cenotes to snorkel. Our favorite was a cave called Taak Bi Ha, where Ricardo led us to a secret part, away from the other tourists. I had no snorkeling experience, but he coached me and made it a wonderful time. We can't wait to explore more with them when we visit Tulum again.

Amazing trip! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Water was too rough for the reef but we did 2 dives in the cenote, including going through caves with flashlights. Highly recommend!

Tulum Area Experiences Guided 2 Tank Scuba Dive Casa Cenote & Barrier Reef-Lunch
Yesterday we dive with Carlos in the “Casa” and cause of the closed reef, in the “Aktun Ha” Cenote. It was a great experience to dive in this crystal clear water and it was our first time we dive in a Cave! One of our greatest impressions was that we seen a Crocodile! Carlos did a great Job and we had a lot of fun!

Carlos was an amazing guide - great with communication on picking us up. He was a great guide through snorkelling through the cenote. The boat ride out to beach was beautiful, and we saw a few sea turtles while snorkelling. Would definitely recommend!

Carlos and his crew were very experienced and gave us an excellent experience diving the dos Ojos cenote. If I’m ever in Tulum again, I would dive with Carlos and his crew.

Cenotes Near Tulum

If you’re looking to swap the salty ocean for a cool freshwater sinkhole, there are plenty of cenotes to choose from near Tulum. Cenote Dos Ojos and the Gran Cenote may be among the most beautiful, but they have crowds to match their stellar reputation. For a slightly more off-the-beaten-path cenote experience, stop by Cenote Zazil Ha or Cenote Xunaan-Ha instead.
