Top Western Highlands Kayaking

"Alex was our guide. He spoke excellent English and was very easy to chat with. He picked us up at our hotel and took us into Panajachel to catch a water taxi across the lake to the kayaks. From there we proceeded to kayak for about 3 miles with a stop about half way at a cove that allowed for some casual swimming. Be sure to fully cover with sun screen! My shins got a little sunburned from sitting in the kayaks. After kayaking, we beached a little west of hotel Atitlan and walk a trail through the Atitlan Nature preserve to the zip lining location. Here Alex turned us over to the zip lining company. While we waited for our time slot there is a cafe with a small selection of food, a butterfly exhibit and plenty of nature trails. Of note, you have to hike up the nature trails to get to the ziplines so if you venture too far you may find yourself re-hiking the same trails. There are trail maps in the main zipline facility showing the layout of the line and the trails. Excellent day of activities and well worth the experience!"
