3 Days in Singapore for Families

Curated by Jen Pengwho has visited Singapore many times over more than a decade.

With its compact size, clean streets, and stellar transportation system, Singapore is one of the top destinations in Asia for families with kids. I'm always impressed with its wide variety of attractions and experiences that cater to kids of all ages and interests. You'll find something to like whether your kids are into animals and nature or prefer more active, thrill-seeking adventures.

From museums, attractions, and activities within Singapore itself, to the myriad options at the nearby man-made island of Sentosa, here’s how to spend three fun and educational-filled days that will delight the whole family in Singapore.

Heat and humidity are expected in Singapore—pack light, breathable (non-revealing) clothing.

If you only have time for one thing, make it Sentosa Island, with its many family-friendly attractions and activities.

Day 1

Spend your first day exploring the main family-friendly highlights in Singapore. Start at Gardens by the Bay to see its futuristic "supertrees." Also nearby are a splash park, toddler playground, and an adventure trail.

In the afternoon, visit the ArtScience Museum at nearby Marina Bay Sands or the Singapore Discovery Center for interactive activities. End the day with a ride on the Singapore Flyer observation wheel for far-out views.

Day 2

The island of Sentosa offers a wealth of family-friendly attractions. You could spend the entire day at Universal Studios, enjoying the rides, many of which are unique to Singapore. To cool off, head to Adventure Cove Waterpark or spend time on one of the beaches on the island.

For a more educational day on Sentosa, there’s the interactive kid-sized city at KidZania. Families who love animals should visit Marine Life Park, which includes the massive S.E.A. Aquarium. While families with older kids can check out MegaZip Adventure Park, though you can tandem zip with younger kids as well.

Day 3

Spend your final day exploring the wildlife in Singapore. Head to the renowned Singapore Zoo to see animals roam around in open enclosures. Alternatively, visit the world’s largest walk-in aviary at Jurong Park or the River Safari Wildlife Park.

In the afternoon, head to the Jewel Changi Airport to see its rain vortex waterfall and fun Canopy Park. Afterwards, rent a bike and pedal down the Changi Jurassic Mile for its display of more than 20 life-size dinosaurs. Then, end the day back at the Singapore Zoo for the Singapore Night Safari.
