Your best choice for a Barossa Valley wine tasting tour
Michael_G, Jan 2023
Matthew, Small Batch Wine Tours, put together a day of tasting at four diverse wineries that showed us the variety of Barossa Valley producers - large and small vineyards, all with excellent wines and generous lists for tasting. He was flexible too because he included wineries that met each of our requests. Matthew has a great depth of knowledge about the Barossa Valley, wine making and vineyards around the world. He shared his expansive knowledge in a way that was easy to understand. Our lunch, included in the price of the tour, was served family style and was plentiful and delicious. Prior to our tour Matthew sent a list of some of his favorite restaurants in Adelaide. An unexpected and much appreciated plus. If you choose Small Batch Wine Tours you'll be very glad you did.

Thanks Michael for such a fab review! Flexibility is key in creating a memorable experience, we don't believe in cookie cutter or one size fits all tours. We definitely do not cut corners on experience or lunch for that matter, so very happy to hear it was well received. Cheers
If you’re visiting the Barossa this is a must do…
Saleem_J, Sept 2021
We live in Adelaide and wanted to experience out of the way boutique vineyards and wineries that were pushing the envelope to producing small batch quality wines. Matthew our guide arranged to take us to four family wineries that allowed us to experience the highs and lows of producing high quality wines that the multinational wine makers focused only on profits. Matthew’s knowledge of the region the winemakers and the process of wine making provided an exceptional understanding with layman terms to technical wine making challenges. This is a one of a kind experience. Matthew looked after everything from wine tasting charges when they applied to lunch to transport. Whether you live in Adelaide or are visiting the Barossa if you don’t do this tour you haven’t experienced the best.

Humbled by your words, Saleem. I had a great time showing you and your family around your new home, and sharing with you all some of my wine wisdoms. Happy to have helped you have such a great day, and looking forward to having you back onboard again some time.
Exceptional tour by our guide Mathew

Top day in the Barossa
ROBIN_M, Sept 2019
Our guide for the day was Matt. He was extremely informative about wines, the processing and harvesting, tastings. He took us to 4 wineries, after the first he had the idea of what types of wines we liked and matched the next three to our tastes. Lunch was a pleasure, local produce, delicious! We went to Maggie Beer's shop and sampled her goodies. Treats and wines to take back home were collected over our day. Matt gave us great tips of where to eat/visit in Adelaide. We were not disappointed with any of his recommendations! We thoroughly recommend this trip.

Cheers for the feedback Brad! Very happy to hear that all of my recommendations were winners. The pics you posted through surely made it look like you were enjoying yourselves on the River Torrens the next day - such a beautiful spot. See you lot again some time? :)

We 6 friends on a girls trip had an awesome day touring the Barossa with Matt. He was knowledgable and fun, and even booked us into an amazing restaurant for lunch my personal highlight...the food was amazing The wineries were all very different, which made it nice to see how different they all were. He even stopped into a distillery for my special request for a bottle of gin. The transport was very comfortable, and Matt even put up with our singing on the way back, haha. Thanks Matt, we had a great day!

The tour was excellent in every respect. Matt was knowledgeable about wines generally and took us to vineyards of our choice in the Barossa Valley. We had a wonderful day: beautiful scenery, great wines, comfortable transportation and a charming, bright, personable host. Truly a memorable experience and great to be on such a small tour just the two of us and Matt.
